Tulle Meets Edgy

Do you curtsy when you meet someone? I've yet to meet someone that required the honor of a curtsy, but go ahead and sign me up for that adventure because I feel ready in this tulle layering dress, purchased from Corrie LeeAnn's online boutique. You may have seen this tulle dress back in the spring when I co-hosted with Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood for the first time.

(If you're looking for fun, unique boutique (haha that rhymes!) options at great prices, check out Corrie LeeAnn's facebook page as well. Click here.)

Anyway, this go round I was inspired to pull it back out of the closet from the Thrifted Chic style I joined up with on Instagram.

My boots are a thrift find, the belt was a cast off, the jacket and purse were gifts, the jewelry was earned and the top was a LOFT clearance find. Even the tulle dress was a clearance purchase when I bought it! This type of outfit is wonderfully satisfying, as they leave me with more food money to feed all the boys in the house - and clothe them too! ;)

The gray tights were a fun must. In other words, they added extra interest to the outfit and they hid my crazy veins well. Fun must. ;) Anyone else have varicose veins and were successful at getting rid of them? I'd love to hear about it! I've had a V-Nus procedure and a phlebectomy, both of which were unsuccessful.  Enough about that, let's talk jewelry!

There was not much time to play with jewelry options, but I made the quick and easy decision to pull from my silver collection. I liked how the pearly necklace worked with the turtleneck top, grabbed my reliable silver stiletto earrings, my glam silver ring and then couldn't help but add on my current hematite favorite - "Midnight".  It was nice to have an excuse to wear these, though I know it's acceptable to glam up jeans and a tee nowadays! Below are the links to these gorgeous pieces, and just so you know, any orders originating from my blog will always be 20% off - always! ;) Just message me a note stating you found the link on Granola & Grace and it's done.

Well my friends, I close with the continuing saga of my silly Christmas tree pictures, that are often accompanied with a good use of my free cupcake a day winnings.

This was taken at my friend Shannon's home. I loved her family tree and hearing about all her traditions.

Tradewind Pic

These were taken at one of our local coffee shops, Tradewinds Coffee Co., with most of the women's ministry team members. It's been a fun year working with these beautiful ladies! The second pic is both an employee and a friend! Love that sweet girl. ;)

The Threading Lounge

This was one of my favorite cupcake deliveries. With our new school schedule, I don't often make it up to the lounge when sweet Mahtab works, so when I showed up on this particular Monday, we both had big smiles for each other. Mahtab thought I had started going somewhere else. Boy was I glad this cupcake surprise followed my smile.  What a terrible client I've been! They didn't have their hot pink tree up, but I couldn't resist snapping a picture anyway.

  5. Your tree looks great. I love the look with the tulle skirt. Ok, ok, I'm biased, I love tulle skirts. Period. What will you do when you don't get the cupcakes anymore? Buy them? Or never ever get a cupcake in your life? LOL. Thanks for linking up to the Top of the World Style linkup party.

  7. I am sorry about the veins but I know no cure as I don't have that problem. Hope you find something that works!

On a style note, you made all the shades of grey and lavender work beautifully for you. You wear a tulle curtsy skirt so well and those argyle tights are perfect for Fall and Winter! You chose the perfect little layered necklace, too! I love love the photo of you by the Christmas tree and what a beautiful tree it is!
