Western Vest Meets Fedora & My First "Piphany" Item

Hello and happy first day of December! My adventures in Illinois AND one of the busiest weeks thus far are now complete. Currently, I'm sipping on my second cup of coffee with my hair going every which way and body protesting movement. You know those days well, don't you? It was a good week though, so no complaints here.

In fact, in these pictures I was visiting my friend, Shannon, who just started selling from the Piphany clothing line! Have you heard of it? Shannon is the first Piphany rep within 30 miles of me, so this will be my first experience. Yay!

The line features dresses, hoodies, palazzo pants, various top styles with seemingly endless amounts of prints, joggers, etc. I thought this top would be a great start with it's flattering length and cut around the hips. I may be getting one more in a beautiful floral print...stay tuned for that.  You can check out her current pieces at The Southern Blue Boutique.

From this comfy shirt and ripped up jeans, the outfit began to take on a western flair, compliments of my mother in law and those adventures in Illinois. The vest was from her closet and the hat (Chicos Fedora) and the boots are early Christmas presents from her. She spoils her girls (my sister in law and I) at Christmas time with a shopping day, lunch and lots of laughs.

Speaking of hats, I love them. Not just for bad hair days but for the extra pizazz they add to an outfit. The reason I own this hat is because, while my sister in law was trying on pants at Chicos, I was playing in their accessories. Already clothed in this vest I like to wear so often, I stumbled upon this hat looking so forlorn on one of their shelves.

"Hey! This color is in my vest!"

I place the fedora upon my under-sized head (for the general hat), and instantly knew we were destined for each other.  However, it was too soon in the shopping day to make any commitments. What if I could find something similar for a better price elsewhere?? Well, you can probably guess how that went. Only Chicos had anything close to as cute with the right fit. Thanks Mom Rowden! ;)

Anyway, back this post...I wore the vest twice during my visit and I wore it again after we returned home. No shame. No shame.  Okay, I've been wearing the hat a lot as well. Guess I'm trying to get in as many wears as I can before fall weather leaves Georgia.

(The fringe saddlebag purse first made it's appearance on my blog HERE. )

Utility Green Jeggings

I'll be sharing more about these fabulously, comfortable boots in my next post!

In the meantime, here's how I styled the vest, hat and boots for Thanksgiving. The only item I kept from my original Thanksgiving style (Check it out here!), was the the "Thankful" top. You know how it is when you get something new!

More playing around...Compliments to my sister in law for snapping these pics and sweet support.

Well, that's all for today my friends. What's your favorite purchase from these last couple of weeks?

  1. Well I love love that first outfit I seriously pinned it from every angle lol. I want the vest, the hat, the booties, the pants. OK and you always have such cute jewelry. Looks like you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Chicago trip and your mother in law sounds the sweetest! She definitely got you the best hat and now I want it. If you see my latest post you will notice that I am wearing a hat or two, also lol.
