Valentine's Outfit: From Day to Night & Link Up!

Hello world! Valentine's Day is coming! That's what this outfit says to me! Whether or not I actually participate in all the festivities makes no difference. I just want to wear pink and burgundy! I see it everywhere on Instagram in the shoes, clothes, accessories and even household decor. PINK. However, if you're not in love with pink, or burgundy, hold on tight because I am collaborating with Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood and 8 other bloggers to bring this fun post: From Day to Night for Valentine's. There's sure to be variety there...

Hello lacy, sheer sleeved top with details that cheer the fashionista in every woman. Yes, I'm totally dramatic. But I do find temporal happiness in pretty things. I just do.

This is not at all the direction I originally imagine when I tried on this top, but it's nice to do the unexpected; even for myself. While standing in front of the mirror in the dimly, flattering (deceiving - haha!) dressing room my mind gravitated to all things dressy. I have those fabulous coated skinnies that you can check out here, here and here. I could try styling the top with my khaki colored slacks, or even black. However, it was chilly and I needed some cozy, comfort. Thus the corduroy pants and cable cardigan came into play.

From there I chose my stone colored booties, and my latest handbag that is perfect for hauling all I need when running errands throughout the day.

I kept the accessories simple with the bronze statement earrings.

Outfit Breakdown:
Top: Altar'd State (clearance find)/Cords: LOFT (OLD)/Booties: Clarks/ Cardigan: Eddie Bauer (OLD)/ Purse: ALDO (DSW)/ Earrings: Premier Designs (English Ivy)/

The boys and I took school on the road while we were in between various' practices and headed to our local coffee shop, Tradewind. They tasted their first steamed milk with a shot of vanilla, while I had my usual London Fog latte. The rest of that day was history...then came time to prepare for an evening look.

Their Daytime Looks...!!

Now. I could dress up these cords for a night out, BUT....

Tulle!!!

Tulle is so romantic and feminine and of course yet another treat for these eyes, hunting for all things pretty. ;)  This layering tulle dress from Corrie LeeAnn's online boutique (I've styled it here and here as well.) is grey with hints of purple or pink depending on what color I layer over top.

Again, I kept the accessories simple but I changed out the bronze earrings for pearl studs, a pearl bracelet and an extra ring in rose gold. The clutch is a fun, rose gold metallic that I picked up at Altar'd state and the cozy, FUZZY fabulous scarf was also from the same sale. Sigh. I'm so happy. Confession: I purchased this scarf as a gift for someone else and then decided I needed one for myself so...

Last but not least are my go-to winter pumps from White House Black Market. They were a warehouse find for $6.

  2. Oh my goodness, Chrissy, I absolutely adore your nighttime look! Yes to tulle! Now I wish I had worn my red tulle skirt for my Valentine's looks! And I am loving your day look as well with pink and burgundy...because, well, I did the same color combo for my daytime look. Another super fun collaboration! I can't wait to see all the pretty red dresses for the next one.

  3. I think the cold definitely worked in your favor - the cords are so pretty with that beautiful blouse! Perfection, especially for V-day! Then that blouse with the beautiful tulle skirt - oh heavens - you are an angel on earth! My skirt seems to pouf out alot - of course maybe that's my fat middle making it do that, dang it. I'd love to wear mine like you're wearing yours, so pretty and feminine. And I know envy is a sin but I am so envious of those fabulous shoes you paid $6 for!!!
You nailed it my friend with your day to night Valentine's looks!

    1. KellyAnn, you always make me smile and laugh. I remember seeing your tulle skirt and I thought, "I wish mine had more pouf to it'. haha! Isn't that funny? I actually thought that. You look adorable in yours!

  4. First off, your posts ALWAYS put a big genuine smile on my face. I love how you worded this. Secondly, I love how pretty and sophisticated your hair looks when you straighten it. Third and most importantly the outfits. . .

Besides my own, yours were my favorite looks for today's collab. That pink sheer top with the beautiful floral embroidery is darlingggg. I am Not sure which look I prefer. I am a fan of burgundy with blush pink always. But my fancy, dressy, girly self keeps staring at the outfit with the tulle skirt and loving it sooooo much. It is girly perfection. So romantic and pretty. Glen needs to take you out in that outfit and you should go dancing in it. You are a gem!!

    1. That makes me happy Ada! I should straighten my hair more. It's time consuming but it lasts a couple more days...Glen does need to take me out in that. It would be great to go to the theatre or a nice restaurant. I love your purple pants. We could definitely borrow from each other, couldn't we??
