Hey friends! Yesterday I found myself staring through the clothes in my closet hoping inspiration would magically transform. Well, sometimes ideas do seem to magically appear, but yesterday wasn't one of them. The struggle was real and looked like this...
Sigh.
I could wear my green denim. No. I always wear those and I've blogged about them way too many times.
My distressed denim. No. That was in my last blog post.
Leggings? Yeah, but what long top do I want to pair with them?
I should wear this new cardigan so I can blog about it. No. Not feeling it.
I pulled a few top/vest combinations out in hopes to be inspired further. Nothing.
I gave up and resorted to scrolling Pinterest, as well as my Pureple App that I used once upon a time. (They revamped their software several months back and I lost the ability to connect my uploaded photos to their online site. I've yet to motivate myself to upload everything again.)
After about 10 minutes of scrolling I saw enough to get me going. There's nothing special about this outfit, but it was different from my usual picks. In addition, this "almost a baker boy" hat was an afterthought inspired by "Not Dressed as Lamb's" recent blog post on a baker hat. Also, this morning I woke up and found that Andrea from Living on Cloud Nine also featured an outfit styled with a baker hat. How fun is that? I truly love the blogging community.
So this outfit is brought to you by Pinterest, Pureple, and the blog world. ;) My cardigan is a last year find at American Eagle. It's thick and warm, thereby making a linen tee possible in the mild Georgia temps.
And the pants? Well, they were a forgotten pair of legging-style bottoms from the Limited. I say style because they aren't quite as snug as a pair of leggings and the material is slightly thicker. This year the Limited has a velveteen stretch on sale. They are so comfortable that I'll be throwing a few outfits together with them. Or maybe I'll get organized enough to partake in one of the 5x5 challenges!
I accessorized with a bag that was a gift from a friend who traveled to Italy last year, a hat was a Christmas gift and shoes from 4 years ago at Target! The only newer items are the jewelry and bracelets from Premier.
These two necklaces are my favorite in the silver line as of right now. With trending geometric shapes and a delicate appearance I feel as if I'm adding a feminine touch to any outfit.

Tips for styling an outfit when you're in a rut or even when you're not:
- Follow your favorite bloggers. ;)
- Scroll Pinterest and Instagram
- Start with the shoes you'd like to wear and work your way up.
- Pick a basic top and bottom, add a third layer (jacket, cardigan, scarf, etc) and complete with a stand out accessory (statement necklace, purse, hat, etc) or two.
- Grab a comfy dress, cute shoes, cute outer layer (it is fall) and a stand out accessory or two.
- Make sure you're comfortable!
