Friday Favorite Feature: Tunic Tops & Aquarium Stops

Summer has arrived in Florida and with it more adventures in shorts!  Today I'm thrilled to share a few favorites: this fun outfit, the re-opening of Mote Marine Aquarium, and some rare pictures with my camera-shy friend from Georgia!

Mote Reopening
This is not the first time I've featured the aquarium, as it's one of my favorite places to take the boys, but like the rest of the country, they had to close their doors in light of COVID-19. Today I'm happy to say that they've reopened, with a few changes to accommodate the new safety regulations. Here's a quick tour so you know what to expect!

Changes at Mote:

  • Tickets are electronic and need to be purchased in advance.
  • Staff and volunteers get their temperatures checked daily.
  • Masks are required unless you are unable to wear one due to health reasons. If that's the case, Mote will give you a sticker, so you won't be questioned as you tour the aquarium. (I'm one of those people that gets lightheaded and a headache after about 20 minutes if I don't take a maskless breath. My heart goes out to those that have to wear them all day!)
  • Your exploring path from start to finish is clearly marked with maps on the wall, signs and arrows.
  • Cute signs remind you to keep your distance from others, not in your party and there are hand sanitizer stations located throughout the tour.
  • The diner is open! Adequately spaced tables are provided throughout the outside area.

The Savage Ancient of The Seas...
This set up is visiting Mote for a short period of time, so if you love to see fossils and get a peek into the prehistoric world, hurry on over there!

Thank you Mote for an inside look at your reopening. I'm grateful for the fun adventure I had with a friend from "home" and the opportunity to make new friends!
Keeping our friendly, social distance...

Also, I wasn't able to share our Style Six Link Up on Wednesday, so please feel free to link up here! :)

  4. How fun! We love aquariums! Our local aquarium has been struggling to feed it's animals with having to close during their busiest season but we hope they can open soon and we can go support them.

  12. I don’t how I missed this post! You are so adorable in this cute shorts and tunic outfit! And I am loving your face mask. I am like you, I cannot tolerate the mask for very long. As a result, I don’t really leave my house! But I may if we had an aquarium to visit! We have completely run out of things to do around here. Thanks for linking up, my friend!
