The Loft Spring 2020 Try-On

Don't you love how local stores are hosting events with snacks, drinks and discounts? Our local Loft even invited a few stylists from the area. These sweet gals were available to assist with style advice to any who desired it.  I haven't tried on clothes in a store for several months so I thought this "Galentine" event was the perfect time to go!  I tried on so many tops, I knew a post was coming so join me for the fashion link up and a few of my LOFT spring favorites!

The LOFT Try On Adventure With The Sunday Showcase

Hello! And welcome to April, right? Today's Sunday Showcase with Ada and Kellyann is all about the LOFT. The three of us went to our local Loft stores for a little try on adventure. We thought it would be interesting to see what each of us picked to try on and feature. I haven't shopped at the LOFT for over a year so this outing was pure style research. Another great bonus was Kim at Fierce Fashion met up with me! More to come on that in another post, but in the meantime keep an eye out for her in these pictures.

Rushing Mishaps

Sweatshirt: Target  Skinnies: WHBM   Necklace: Rockport by Premiere

Today's easy throw together proves that I'm still having fun with these black skinnies. This was to be my outfit for the day. It looks so easy. So free. But unfortunately there are times when you need bring half of your home with you. And if you're anything like me, you try to carry as much as possible in one trip to save time.

This morning was no different! I rushed out the door with 3 bags, a guitar, keys and a smoothie to go.  I clamored over to my cool ride and began unloading. As I hopped into the front seat, I felt the fab sensation of a cold, thick liquid running down my arm and leg. I didn't take the time to put a lid on that smoothie cup, so I ended wearing it.  At this point, changing was not an option, so I did my best to mop up the milky residue off my pant leg. (It was more obvious than the pic below shows.) Nice. This is real life people!

In the real world, you don't always get out the door when you planned. In the real world, you may run around with a gross stain on your pants. In the real world, you may have cried through a song that you intended to actually sing. (Never sounds good.) This is the real world. I'm in it. I'm flawed, but boy am I thankful this does not define me. I'm a daughter of the one true King who cares about me and collected those tears in a bottle. My life song is pleasing to Him because I am found in Christ.  His strength is made perfect in my weakness.

And my applicable lesson for today? Carry less or put a lid on drinks to go. Now I close with a couple more pics from what I wore.

An After Hours Event

For a night out...how about an after hours event at a clothing boutique? And then why not see if a friend can accompany you (or in my case, help get your tired booty out the door)?

What I wore ...

Cardigan: Loft/ Ruffle Top: LOFT/ Belt: LOFT/Boyfriend jeans: GAP/ Shoes: WHBM

I am getting spoiled by the relaxed, comfortable feel of boyfriend jeans. The temptation to acquire another pair in a darker denim is growing. Do you think they have boyfriend shorts?? Wearing the jeans with heels helps add a feminine touch to the masculine cut. By the end of the night I did wish for some flats with lots of lace or something cuz the burn began in full force after waltzing up and down the streets of downtown Athens.

My beautiful friend, who just entered into her 3rd trimester. :)

LOVE those shoes!!
A Little Grub

Heirloom Cafe in Athens, GA
Before shopping one must eat...Thanks to the gentle prodding of my friend (After a long day I was ready to grab a sandwich from the house and go - glad I listened.) we checked out an adorable restaurant that serves farm to table, fresh foods but by no means do they sacrifice on some good 'ole fashion southern comfort. And if you sit outside don't be afraid to pluck a mint leaf or two from the herb planters. That's what I did. Nice touch for my water.

Serving up Fried Chicken and Waffles...

The sauce you see on the top is their very own pepper jelly, which added just the right bite to this traditional savory sweet dish.  I ate almost every bite, but held back and saved the leftovers for breakfast the next day.

AND...for those coffee drinkers, they serve coffee that is fresh roasted from a local coffee company. Good stuff!

Time to head to the shop...

Here I am with, Mz. Savvy Style, one of the hosts of the Sip & Shop held at Encore Boutique in the college town of Athens, Georgia. She was so sweet and adorable. I definitely felt under-dressed! (You can check our Mz. Savvy Style's blog HERE.)

They had lemonade, cookies and 20% of any full priced purchase in the store. I played around for a bit, tried on a few dresses and hit the clearance racks last. Of course that is where I found my first clothing purchase of 2014.

Encore's prices varied enough that the pockets of most shoppers would be accommodated, especially when you can take an extra percentage off.

Just playing around with options..Posts on how I wore this shirt to come.

Have you ever been to an after hours event? Did you find good deals?
