Mer-sea Cozy Scarf & Ultra Violet Color of the Year

Back in August a sweet friend of mine gifted me my first Fab Fit Fun box for my birthday. The box arrived sometime in September and one of my favorite items from the box was this cozy, blush colored scarf by Mer-sea. It is exactly that. Cozy and Soft. However, this is the first time I've styled it! What's wrong with me?

"The Coziest Scarf Ever"

Well, in full disclosure, I imagined the scarf slipping off my shoulders throughout the day and thereby end up being more of a nuisance than a practical way to stay warm, stylish and comfortable. So I hung said scarf in my closet and figured I'd use it for book reads and movie watching.

The Violet & Blush Plaid

Christmas morning arrives and along comes this adorable plaid in blush and purple ultra violet (Are you catching my Pantone color of the year throw in??). Weeks go by before I see the color connection between the two, but connection is made and I decide to give them a try. Also, another blogger recently reminded me that blush/pink are great for Valentine's Day. Duh! Where have I been. No. The truth is this may be the first time I have pink in my closet in I don't know how long. Crazy.

Moving on...The boys and I leave for errands around town and I don't even think about the fact that the scarf is on, though I notice I'm snuggling up into it from time to time. However, when I returned home and had to get dinner on, throw some laundry in and wash dishes I ditched the scarf and put on a vest, which makes sense to me.

My first assumption was incorrect. This cozy scarf is in fact, stylish and practical for more than just an evening on the couch. It's not the first my presumptions were wrong and we all know that it won't be my last. I like to be proven wrong in fashion and I continually learn by trial and error.

The Camo Pants

Blush Necklace
Ok. So why the camo pants? I chose these simply because I was bored of wearing my jeans and these are comfortable. That's all.  And I've already featured these buttery, leather boots on the blog a few times. I'm not trying to hide the fact that I love them!

Those Fab Accessories

These mirrored aviator glasses are from my sister. Apparently, they didn't fit her face. Oh. That's too bad sissy. I love you. ;) The final touches to this outfit is rose gold. I already had all that pink, blush and bashful going on, so why not??

I close with this peek into my reality of blogging. Boys will be boys and this pop in and out of the pics happened repeatedly...BUT I just better be durn thankful that they are so willing to take momma's pic because it won't last!

How do you style your oversized scarves? I guess this is basically a blanket scarf, but the thickness of it encourages me to layer it differently than the typical blanket scarf. Oh, and What do you think of this year's ultra violet color??

Wishing you all the best,

Chrissy

  2. Oh that cozy scarf looks so inviting! You were smart to pair it with your plaid and look at you all referencing the Pantonne color of the year! Oh yea girl, you work that ultra violet! I used to wear ultra violet eye shadow back in the 90s so I think I've probably had my fill but who knows? Next week I could be all over it!
You are precious as always my sweet friend!

  4. I have this same scarf in the gray colors... I love it, but it is VERY thick and long... so, I do struggle with wearing it as well! It is def. not a piece I could wear all day, because it is a little high maintenance on keeping it in place like you said! lol! But, such a lovely piece for blog photos! I love it styled with those camo pants.
