LadyBossBlogger: The Learning Update

The learning continues here at Granola & Grace and I'm excited to bring you an update from my experiences thus far! If you missed the first post on the LadyBossBlogger course, hop on over here so you can get caught up! Today I'm going to wrap up what I've learned, but will also add that I'm not done processing or implementing what I've learned. I saved legal jargon for last (no surprise there) and I have the bonus courses to finish! If you're on the fence about investing in yourself and your business, I hope this post helps you make a decision one way or the other.

More Questions to Ask Yourself as You Move Forward...
Whether this is your first month in working the influencer game or your 6th (me) year, I believe these are helpful questions to ask ourselves:

What is the purpose of my influencer account?
Some examples from the course are: Create Brand Awareness, Build and Engage a Loyal Community, Showcase Products and Services

If I'm not already scheduling my content, should I start?
Scheduling your posts gets you ahead of the game, keeps you on task, and ensures your content is delivered on time! There are plenty of apps. However,  LaddyBossBlogger recommends Planoly for Instagram posts. I've used UNUM to see what plan my grid, but have not yet scheduled posts. I will check out Planoly as well.

Are my Instagram highlights effective?
The course shares how to put them together and tips on how to lay them out.

Do I have a media kit and is it up to date?
The course provides resources and details on what should be in your kit.

Especially helpful for me:
I've learned about pitching from some free courses, but I appreciated the examples and additional details provided by the LadyBossBlogger course. For example, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are the best days to send pitch emails. I usually send on Mondays because that's when I feel fired up and most productive. However, brands may be playing catch up from the weekend. So from now on, I'll compose my emails on Monday and send it on Tuesdays!

Pitching to Pricing

Another takeaway for me is pricing. I knew about the fabulous resource available at SocialBluebook.com but I hadn't thought about offering brand packages with varying options! I know I enjoy options, so why wouldn't I as a business offer choices?

For example:

Instagram static post + stories : $45.oo
Blog Post/Instagram static post/Stories: $100.00
Video/Blog Post/Instagram static post/Stories: $200.00

Affiliate Links & Marketing
The LadyBossBlogger course not only shares companies to sign up for, but it also provides tips on how to promote and track your links.

Again, I'm still processing and will pick one tip to implement at a time! What is one area of your blog or influencer game that you feel needs attention to right now? Perhaps a course is just what you need to get things in order!

The course for How To Make Money As An Influencer is currently 40% off if you use my discount code: ChrissyRowden.

In addition, there's a giveaway on my Instagram for a FREE course that closes tonight (June 9th!). Once you're done reading, hop on over to @granola_n_grace to enter! (Sidenote about Instagram...it's a fierce battle to grow these days!  If you don't already follow me, I would be so grateful if you'd come to give me a follow. There are big cyber hugs awaiting you. ;0)

Here are the rules:
Before closing, I'd like to mention additional resources:
Also, a portion of the proceeds goes to support the Micah Project, a home for street kids in Honduras.
I've lived in Honduras and remember the poverty well.

  3. Did you live in Honduras or did the creator of these courses live in Honduras? I lived in Panama. There is such incredible poverty throughout Central America.

I paid for a little blogging course that I have never sunk my teeth into. But hope to start next week. I am torn between just wanting to write and wanting to make money. I think I wanting to write is my main focus but would love to be paid to do so!!

Thank you for sharing these resources.

  4. Sounds like a fantastic course and I am so glad you are getting the most out of it. Love reading about what you are learning because I am at that crossroad in my blogging journey Chrissy and this course sounds very helpful. Although, it's never late to start, I wish I had known about blogging courses when I started my blog. Just like the previous commenter mentioned, I am also torn about writing to write and writing to make money. In a way, I feel pressured. I see all these other women being successful and doing what they love, that I question myself why can't I or how come I am not there. In any event, I can't wait to read more about this course. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
