What I Wore: Outdoor Adventures & Chacos

graphic tee
Once again my sister and I collaborated together for another week of homeschool adventures, which means outings with more focus on functional fashion than dressing to impress. This will be our third meetup where we plan lessons and adventures for the kids. Since we use the same unit studies, designed with schooling all ages in mind, this is easily pulled off. The lessons are already laid out for us and each child works on their individual level. What a blessing this curriculum is.

Winds To Blow You Away

Gusts of vocal winds whipped us around on this outing to celery fields. We found shelter in a gazebo where we reviewed facts before venturing back out. While my sister and I complained of being cold, the kids cared only for running and rolling down each hill. Makes me think of that scene in The Princess Bride where Buttercup unknowingly pushes her dear love, Wesley down the hill. While frightfully tumbling downward he cries out, "As you wish!. Immediately she recognizes her Wesley and goes tumbling after him. Anway, that's how my brain works!

Fashion Low Down

A simple graphic tee c/o Shop Sweet Soul, an old pair of joggers, a zip-up jacket c/o Caite & Kyla and the most durable, comfortable and versatile sandals for adventures I've yet tried. Do you own a pair of Chacos? They are amazing for hiking, camping, beach combing, river rafting, kayaking, etc

Sharing XCVI

The Philo top by XCVI is still a star in my closet. It's so easy to style with a tunic length but a hi-lo flattering hem that looks cute without extra fussing with tucks. I bought this one for my sister when they had one of their featured sales.  Here's a few ways I styled MINE

Ft. Desoto

We hiked around the historic Ft. Desoto, which I highly recommend if you're ever visiting close to Tampa. There's a little something for all ages, not to mention fabulous camping sites. We went from exploring the fort to walking the pier and scaling the rocks along the beach.

Fashion Low Down

The Chacos return for more versatile comfort. Only this time I paired them with my corduroys c/o XCVI. The zip-up pockets are handy and they kept me warm and comfortable all day. Sidenote: I had a cute graphic tee to share but that sweatshirt never came off. This girl doesn't like to be cold so there's always next week. I know. My friends living in the wintery tundra are laughing right now!

Sharing Sunny Culture...

Cheers to good health! As I mentioned in the last couple of posts, my goal this year is to focus on my individual health needs. This means I'm not jumping on fad diets or an exercise regimen I can't maintain. I'm reading more books and even looking into some either gene testing by Dr. Lynch, hair analysis, etc. The first book is by Dr. Livingood. Shelbee, from Shelbee on the Edge is going to join me and I'm so excited. Anyone is welcome. Check out his video HERE. I'll be starting the 21 day challenge on the 15th.
These immunity shots continue to be my favorite probiotic kefir drink. Each shot has 4x the potency of one 16 oz bottle of their fermented kefir! Wow! Code: granolaandgrace saves you 15%

Have a wonderful rest of the week my friends. Get out and get some sunshine if you're able!

  2. Chrissy, I love this post and these photos of you and your sister and all the children! What a beautiful family, my friend! And how fun to be able to have your sister to team up with for homeschooling adventures! I am looking forward to starting this 21 day challenge with you! I am really enjoying the book although I probably should have started reading it the other day BEFORE I went to the grocery store and brought home about 7 different packages of junk food goodies! Haha. I have to make sure it's all gone by the 15th!

  4. I am looking forward to some fun outdoor activities next month! Still too cold to enjoy anything right now. Right a little snow is predicted for next week. You know as I am always admiring your XVCI clothes, I think I am going to maybe make that my clothing $$ for March: find one or maybe 2 things! I did so well thrifting this week that between that, a dress on Amazon and a pair of Lucky Brand glasses at TjMaxx, my $75 February budget was gone. I was able to fund my clothes for Jan and Feb with stuff I sold in January, now to figure out what my budget is for March. Love seeing pics of your family, it is so fun that you and your sis are able to do these week long homeschool weeks together!

  5. Such fun photos Chrissy, I love seeing your sister and your nieces with y'all! I've been to Fort DeSoto before - many years ago - with the cub scouts, we camped there!

  6. I can see why you'd team up for homeschool lessons, I am sure they are a lot of work! I have not tried those drink/shots, but I think they offer them or something similar in my Hello Fresh boxes as an add on. The kids look like they're having a blast! I love that first outfit and a hi-lo hem always works well for me!
