The Beauty Edition

Hey! Welcome to another Question and Answer feature, hosted by the beautiful ladies at the Blended Blog.  In addition to providing a fun way to get to know bloggers, these questionnaire's remind me just how fast the time is passing!! Didn't we just do the fall, October one?? Well, here we are in March and I can't wait to read everyone's beauty routines. Hope you enjoy this Beauty Edition today!
Let's dive right in on how I maintain these long, but sparse lashes!

1. Eyelash Curler? Not on a daily basis, but when I do I use this one by Japonseque...

However, I do use this eyebrow gel by Mary Kay on a daily basis!

The gel doesn't flake, has a matte finish and is equipped with a mascara style comb that makes for a quick and easy application!

2.  My Favorite Nail Color? Ouu! That's hard. One of them is pictured above, though not my best paint job. ;) It's a pretty blush called "Sweet" by B'Livvin. But I also love different shades of purple and or grey. Have you tried Ella+Mila nail polish? There are a 7-Free nail polish, which means they are free from Toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, TPHP and Xylene. There is a short description on each of these chemicals on their website HERE. Not all of my nail polish or makeup is "clean" but I try where I can and when I can. Anyway, these are now available at Target and I can't wait to go snag one!
3.  Favorite Lipstick Shade? Lately it's been Veronica by Anastasia...it's just so rich and I love the purple tones. However, I may need to tone it down for spring summer. :)

4. Blow dry or Airdry? Man I wish I could blow out my hair the way my stylish does! I give it my best shot, but it usually ends up looking frizzy.

5. Artificial Nails or No? No, but I'd take a surplus of gift cards to get gel nail color every couple of weeks! ;)

6. Foundation or No? Most days I use CC cream, which I only stumbled upon because of a Birchbox subscription I was gifted for my birthday.  CC cream is just like BB cream only it's supposed to do a few extras for those of us looking into keeping young. ;) I love Marcelle's CC creme but apparently they are discontinuing it so I found an alternative in the MaryKay CC cream...

As for my foundation, I went from Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue to Japonseque's liquid foundation. Why? Because a makeup artist told me it was better and it was on sale!

7. Hair up or hair down? Well that depends on when it was last washed and/or the style of top I'm wearing. Certain tops or vests with larger collars make me want to style my hair up.

8. Bar soap or body wash?  I'm on a handmade soap kick from East Coast Bath and Body. It smells wonderful and it surprisingly moisturizing.  The granola in me is coming out, as I like knowing there are no artificial fragrances, etc.

9.  Bath or Shower? Shower all the way. I can't remember the last time I took a bath. However, I recently acquired a bath bomb that I want to try so...

10. Body Lotion? It takes me a LONG time to get through a bottle of lotion so I don't feel bad about gravitating towards "cleaner" brands such as Jason, Aubrey Organics or Nature's Gate. However, when nothing's on hand, there's always coconut oil, right?
11. Do you wear perfume? No. How boring, right?

12. Do you shave your legs everyday? Um, no. Sure don't.

13. Favorite Lip Balm?  Burt's Bees tinted lip balm in the color Red Dahlia!! My lips feel so soft and it lasts awhile. You may have to reapply a time or two, but it's quick and easy. Love it!

14. How old were you when you first started wearing makeup? My mom allowed me to use lip color once I was in high school, but I don't remember when I first started going for a full face.

Okay, just for fun I'll share a couple extras...

Candace Cameron's Staying Stylish, which is a light easy fun read with several good tips,  My Tarte Eyeshadow Pallette, my cosmetic satchel and my new makeup brush cleaner, which is a quick, thorough and entertaining way to clean all your brushes.

Lastly, I'm still using a complete line of Korean skincare by Saranghae that I recently reviewed on the blog. Click here for more details.

Have a wonderful day beautiful!

    1. Yes, I did read the letter from her son...um, tears. And I cannot imagine my oldest doing that...he's a "I can't wait to get out on my own" kind of feels. And thank you for the kind words. You really know how to make a girl feel like she's special. ;)

  7. I’ve seen that brush cleaner. Looks pretty cool. Love the nail polish shades too. So fun to see where he everyone’s using and what we have in common. My daughter is addicted to Burt’s Bees lip balm, but just the original. Happy hump day!

    1. Thank you. And yes the brush cleaner is fabulous...it's a matter of pulling it out, but once you do you're golden! Has your daughter tried the tinted ones? It's pretty great! Thank you for commenting Lisa!

  8. I am so sorry I missed out on this particular TBB asks though I am not much a mekeup and beauty person but I need to be as I am approaching 40. Those nail polishes sound great. I need to start getting some paid manicures (since I bite the hell out of my fingernails) and start growing my nails like yesterday. Also, can you tell me more (send me the brands and names as an e-mail pretty please) about the body soap you use, the brush cleaner and the eyelash curles. Thank you so very much, friend!
