Sharing BIG News on the Blog Today

Hey friends! Once again, I'm sitting in the hotel lobby, plunking away at my computer keys happy to finally share my news on the blog.  I've wanted to share sooner, but the days became flurries of activity leaving me without time and energy to get on the blog!

So let's get right to it...

Last June, my family and I, were preparing to vacation at Ponce Inlet, Florida, which is where we've vacationed for 7 years. However, at the last minute, the condo fell through and we scrambled to throw something together. You can read about those adventures HERE, but for quick review we ended up visiting long lost relatives throughout South-West Florida. We went to Bradenton and explored as many beaches as we could, as well as tourists stops in Sarasota. It was nothing but a pieced together vacation to a lovely area. Or was it?

Fast forward a year - to the MONTH...

...and we find ourselves on the same side of Florida,  only this time we're house hunting! WHAT?! My husband accepted a position at a church here in Florida! This was not even on our radar, up until April or May. See how fast life can move? We are moving to Florida!

Quite honestly, typing this feels like the crash of unexpected tidal wave.  My throat catches and my eyes fill with mixed emotions. Everything is happening so fast, but the list of tasks keep me from fully processing this change.  Not to mention, the desire to fill my Georgia days with as much family and friend time, cupcake adventures and Fit Body workouts as I can before we move further south!

Knowing that God's hand is all over this, keeps me at peace in the midst of the crazy! I long to share all the details with you soon, but we're scheduled to meet the realtor and I didn't want to put off sharing this news any longer.

And suffice it to say, when God gave me the word "Adventure" last year, I had no idea where that adventure would take me.  And to be honest, I still don't completely know, but I look forward to sharing each nugget with you on the blog.

I know it will effect each family member differently. Lord, give us grace for each other!

Hold on emotions!! There's no time to cry right now. Also, I'm still in that hotel lobby.

This is truly our biggest change since we were told I was carrying not one, but two babies and look what an amazing blessing they continue to be! (Now I'm chuckling to myself as I write this.) There will be tears my friends. We are saying "see you later" to sweet family and friends in our church community, local businesses with more sweet friends, and our home of 15 years! I ask for your prayers during this time of uncertainty, legalities and financial stress; but also for the future that lies before us.

LOVE THIS Trucker Hat by Georgia Girl
The church family in Florida have welcomed us with open arms and we pray that we will be a blessing to them!

So, was last year's vacation to the Bradenton/Sarasota area a coincidence? I don't believe it was, and I count it as a gift in preparation for our hearts in these moments.

I look forward to sharing more details, as well as updating you on our house hunt and whatever adventures are ahead!

We still have time in Georgia...see this trucker hat I'm wearing?? A new friend shared it, along with a few others! There's more graphic tees to come and more cupcakes to pick up! So yes, I've still more adventures to be had in Georgia!

My friends, you mean so much to me and I appreciate your support, comments and cyber love more than you can imagine. Also, thank you for your patience in failing to get over to your posts!

Lots of Love,

Chrissy :)

  7. Oh, Chrissy, the Lord's ways are never dull and generally can be surprising. My brother and his family lived in the Bradenton/Sarasota area for several years and we've been there many times. We absolutely love the area and I know you and yours will too. I'm sure a great ministry is awaiting your family there and I pray all will adjust with ease. Hugs to you!

    1. Thank you so much Lea. You’ve kindly followed along and encouraged. God is so good to show His kindness through sisters in Christ that I’ve never even met! And I keep hearing great things about Sarasota so that helps the transition!

So many emotions are going to overwhelm you for sure and in one year’s time you will be sharing about how perfectly everything has fallen into place! I am sure of it...because you take love and grace with you wherever you go. It matters not where you actually live! Sending many prayers and blessings for an easy transition, my friend! I can't wait to hear all the exciting things that God is going to do through you in Florida, just as he's done in Georgia! I'll be praying for you and your family during this huge transitional time!
