Friday Favorites: New Brands & Products I Love

Hello! Are you ready for some football?? I'm cautiously excited because back in May our eldest badly broke his collar bone during some practice drills. It took over three months to heal. Now that he received clearance from the doctor, he's back in it, working hard to get his weight up. Needless to say, this momma will be a nervous spectator. I guess that's all apart of being a mom. So before I prepare for another night in the stands, let's talk Friday Favorites.

One of my favorite things about the blog world is reviewing products! It feels like an adventure to receive and be acquainted with brands and products I've not tried before. And if I like them? Well, I share them here with you on the blog! And today features a few of the recents starting with a protein shake.

310 Nutrition Protein Shake
With a full schedule and little time to dedicate to our menu (I need a personal chef!), I grab nutrition help where I can. Two important necessities that I struggle to get is fiber and protein. For this reason, I opt to add in a protein shakes as well as other quick grab foods that have these key components to keep the body running well. Rarely do I stick to one brand but follow the sales on products I trust. This month, it's all about 310 nutrition.

Have you tried their sample pack? I was delightfully surprised by the taste, as I didn't have to add fruit etc. I put the powder and almond milk in the shaker and went to town. Want to try it with me?

I was gifted a set of hair products by fave4 hair - oh how happy that made me! I will review all of them, but I wanted to start with their "Dearly Detangled" leave-in conditioner. It smells wonderful and makes it so easy to comb through my crazy hair. In addition, it helps me manage my frizz by sealing in the moisture my hair desperately needs.

Collagen Peptides - Vital Proteins
I added collagen back into my daily routine when Vital Proteins sent me a pack to review. Why had I neglected this for so long? After a couple of weeks I noticed my eyelashes growing longer, however it takes several months to notice significant changes with the hair on the head. This is where I need it the most. My hair is fine, thinning and shedding in droves. I'll be sure to update on any changes coming up.

Anyway, their original tub of collagen has 20 grams of peptides, is tasteless, and dissolves fabulously in coffee, smoothies, etc. If you're looking for a variety of ways to add collagen, I saw the water, lattes and "shots" at Target! Costco also has the big tubs last I looked.

Favorite For The Environment
Since moving closer to the gulf, I am consistently reminded about the effects of plastic on our environment. I think about plastic when I order an iced coffee. "Oh man, another plastic cup and those straws! Straws are so evil." Well, I haven't acquired a reusable "iced coffee" cup yet, but I do have reusable straws.

You want glass straws? Stainless steel? Bamboo? How about silicone by GoSili straws? That's my latest product to try. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about them, but they are surprisingly fun and comfortable in the mouth. They also have the cutest, tin travel cases!

The boys love them!

Sleepy, Sleepy With Som Sleep

Do you struggle with falling asleep or staying asleep? I fall right to sleep, but often wake up a few times in the night. More frustrating is when I can't get back to sleep. I've tried melatonin, which helps me relax more but not stay asleep. For this reason, I was skeptical when I picked up Som Sleep at Fresh Market.

The key ingredients are Magnesium, Vitamin B-6, L-Theanine, GABA, and Melatonin. These work together for sleepy, sleepy! Hop over HERE for more info.

I purchased one and chugged the tasty drink 30 minutes before bed as instructed. Soon my eyes became heavy, followed by...sleep! I shared my one night experience on Instagram and was later sent a case.  Now I drink them more regularly.

Ok my friends, before you go have you checked out the fashion link up I'm excited to be apart of - The Style Six? Every Wednesday we share fashion or beauty fun. I hope you can join. And lastly, did you catch this month's Essential Oil Subscription Box review by Simply Earth? What a wonderful company they are!

    1. Thank you Jill. Over the summer the Fave4 products helped alot, though I believe no product and fully combat a day's worth of South Florida humidity. It's more intense than Georgia. I don't know what level of humidity is now (still there! lol) but I feel like we have a good handle on it with this conditioner. I should have mentioned that it doesn't make my very fine hair look greasy.

    1. I didn't think about how many straws are filling landfills until I moved closer to the Gulf of Mexico. It's crazy and this is something small I can do to help! Thank you so much for stopping by!

  6. I am thinking the reusable straws and reusable baggies I have seen on Amazon might make great stocking stuffers for my girls this year. They are both very environment-conscious and would appreciate them.

My hair sounds a lot like yours. I was taking biotin for hair, skin and nails but my endocrinologist told me to stop because it can give false negative blood test results. Maybe collagen would be a better treatment for me.

  7. I wanted to pop in and say "Hi!" my friend! I'm going to try Som Sleep--I need it! We drove to TX on Thursday and I'm here awaiting the moving van--Ugh! The two girls who are living with Steve/me just signed a lease for their own apartment (which is gorgeous, btw). I'm going to feel lost/unsettled for awhile. I want to get back to blogging--will have to do a "try on" sesh, since I don't have any clothing here! :-O . Hugs!

  8. So many great products! I think I am needing those silicone straws! We have stainless ones but I seem to be the only one who uses those. The kids prefer the plastic ones but those are so bad for the environment. I wonder if they would love these silicone ones! I am so glad your son has recovered and I hope he remains injury free from here on out! Stay strong, momma! Thanks for linking up with me this week!
