Friday Favorites: Goodbye April

Goodbye April. You were interesting to say the least. I won't share half of what April entailed for me because Friday favorites are meant to be light and fun. And since I have a good dose of sunshine to share that's what I'll focus on - for now. Wink Wink. I'm excited so let's dive right in!

Favorite New Business
Welcome Postal 98 Cafe. I'm doing my part to support local businesses by frequently picking up London Fog tears. I do what I can, you know? And this week the cafe will be permitted to open their outdoor dining. I can't wait!

Favorite Moment
We celebrated our twin's birthday by staying at a local beach motel. Only Florida residents are able to stay and the rates are drastically reduced. Yards from the sand, I breathed in the salty air as deep as my lungs would permit! As for the boys, they swam, played and ran as boys should do! It was a blessing we don't deserve.

Favorite New Beverage Find
Publix had Doctor D's sparkling probiotic drink on sale so I grabbed a few to take with us to the beach. The Berry Lavender is so good! This is not Kombucha. It's a water kefir, which is also good for the gut. We need all the help we can get right now, right?
Favorite Home Project
This eyesore of an area is slowly being converted to a fire pit hangout. We have a few more projects to finish off that area, but I'm happy with our progress and already use the area for a quiet escape.

Favorite Instagram Adventure
For the month of April, I committed to daily share something from Psalms or Proverbs LIVE on Instagram. It was both a challenge and an adventure as I never knew who would join me, what would transpire at home while LIVE or if I'd have something of value for share each day. This was a lesson in trust, discipline and vulnerability that I'm proud of.

In addition, I started going LIVE on Thursday with Jill, a friend I met on Instagram. We've chatted about topics such as immune building, critical thinking, supporting local and shared our personal health journeys. Jill and I are having so much fun we plan to continue. As for my daily LIVEs, I'm taking a break and considering something regular there as well. It was so good for me.

I even went live during our stay at the beach. I didn't miss a day!
The sweet Jill sharing about our LIVEs on Insta...
Favorite Shoes
Hands down these perforated leather, pull on shoes are my current favorites. Simply because they're cute, comfortable and I wear them everyday. They were gifted to me by Enjoiya, a new brand that are generously offering a twenty percent discount with my code: Rowden20!

Alright friends, how was your month? I hope to catch up on blog reading this weekend while the boys don't need my computer for school! Have a wonderful weekend...until next post.

  2. Over here, head in the sand, didn't realize you were doing Psalms/ Proverbs on Insta. I started putting Bible verses at the top of my posts and my plan is to run through entire chapters over the course of time. God bless you, my friend--I'm sorry to hear of your April challenges. (I'll add you to my prayers.)

So, so glad you were able to take the twins for a beach hotel stay. It's so fun to get out of the house for awhile. Being in FL you have all of that sun, sand, water at the ready! Hugs!

  3. I am so happy for the boys that you were able to stay close to the beach! I would like to create a small fire pit like that. Just need to convince the hubby. I also need to get our new island kitchen on the schedule!

  6. I am so happy that you were able to do something special for the boys during this difficult times. The smell of sea salt and sandy beaches are a blessing indeed. Although a tiny part of me is jealous, mostly I am happy to read that people are finding everyday joy in the small things once again. Also, yeah, for supporting local. I am trying to shop more locally for sure, and if/when we order take out, we are sure to turn to the smaller local venues in support.

  7. Chrissy, I absolutely love that you were able to go to a beach motel and escape for a bit! And it is a blessing that you deserve! We all deserve any little blessings that come our way these days! And your back yard fire pit area is inspiring me to get working on ours! Thanks for sharing and linking up, my friend! Keep shining your light!

  8. I've never tried a probiotic drink, but that flavor sounds amazing! I'm so glad you had the opportunity for a few days away. That sounds like the perfect get away!

  9. What a great little beach getaway and I know the boys loved getting away! Nothing as therapeutic as the beach (at least for me there isn't). And what a cute little restaurant - so glad to hear they're moving a bit more toward normalcy. That's been the hardest thing for me - getting food to go and not eating it until it's cooling down. It's just not the same. I just love the outfit, too. The pants and top and hat just say BEACH. I haven't tried any of the probiotic beverages but I'm sitting here reading and listening to my stomach gurgling. Maybe it's time to give it a try. The berry lavender sounds wonderful. And I LOVE those shoes and what a great color. Unfortunately, they don't make them in Bigfoot size :/ I think Psalms and Proverbs are wonderful and fairly easy reads - a perfect LIVE topic. I hope May is a much better month for you (it sounds like there were some challenges in April - other than the obvious) <3
