Red White Blue & YOU Link UP

Hello, my dears! And welcome back to our 2nd annual Style Six Link-up - Red, White, Blue & You! We invite you to share your patriotic vibes with us, whether it be fashion, food, decor, places to visit, or whatever strikes your patriotic fancy!  Today, along with a small peek into my dining room (the only place I've decorated), I'm sharing the first of two looks with a new patriotic top!

Also, I'd like to take the opportunity in today's post to introduce you to my friend and co-creator on many upcoming projects for the summer, Emma. Emma graduated from college this spring with a major in photography and publications and needed someone to intern with. I'm honored that she opted to work with me and am already filling our calendar with fun projects. I love having another creative mind for ideas and pictures!

Join Me For Tea
As a true southerner, I'll be serving sweet tea. Around my house, I make a gallon of tea every 1 to 2 days, so of course, it'll be apart of my 4th. I also like to use my herbal teas as a treat for me, but one of the boys figured out how good it tastes. Anyway, welcome to my dining room and coffee station. I just placed the final touches and am ready to sit for a few. ;)

Emma gave Evan his first mini-lesson on how to use her professional camera. His first attempt...

Quick Trip to the Park
After tea, we went for a quick trip to the park. It's hot as blazes in the afternoons, so no one complains when it's time to leave.

Featured in today's outing are the patriotic tank I mentioned, my favorite tumbler by Tervis, a historical fiction novel, and my latest towel craze - Turkish towels. Where have they been all my life? Living in a hot, humid climate forced me to research towel options. My first Turkish towel by Sand Cloud is fabulous, but I needed a more affordable option so I can get this family of six covered. I'm half-way there!

The towels are super absorbent, ultra-lightweight so they pack easily and dry quickly. And I'll throw in a bonus for you. The sand easily shakes off at the beach! These are great for the beach or pool, but I've decided to make these are towels of choice for home as well. It takes too long for terry cloth towels to dry!

As for the novel, "I, Eliza Hamilton", I couldn't believe how little I knew about Alexander Hamilton and his wife. This fiction novel led to a few searches into the real life of Eliza. If you're looking for an interesting read with historical highlights this is a good one.

That's all for today my friends, but come on back Wednesday to the second look with this patriotic tank! In the meantime, link up your red, white and blue posts with us!

  3. Yay!!! I love that you have an intern working with you, so smart and great for both of you. Your tank is so cute and look at you in those cute cut offs - adorable! I need to check out those towels, I'm not usually picky about towels but we could use some new ones and I love the idea of sand shaking off easily!
