The Southern Lace Boutique & Photoshoot

Next, I want tell you about my latest find in denim. They are from a local boutique, BUT this boutique has an online store AND she is offering my readers a 20% off discount code (CHRISSY20) WITH free shipping on anything $50 and up! Locals can stop in the store and mention this post for 20% off anything in the store! More on that later...

For now let's talk about these jeans by Articles of Society that the boutique carries. I mention Judy Blue denim often as they are another favorite of mine, but if you're looking for trending, soft and comfortable, you'll want to check these out as well! I've worn these non-stop since I picked them up last week.

But how did I come to find these fabulous jeans? Well, long story short, I timidly responded to an open model call, via Instagram, posted by Southern Lace Boutique several months ago. It would be good practice and a fun adventure I told myself!

"Um, yes. Would you be interested in featuring some "older" gals for your boutique to broaden your demographic?" Wink!

Fast forward to the recent past and, Courtney, the store owner invited me to join her and a couple of her friends to feature their new spring/summer arrivals. I quickly agreed and looked forward to meeting some new faces.

It wasn't long before I knew it I was awaiting direction at the photoshoot location and meeting some sweet gals.

Just give me all the best lighting, Courtney. Fine lines, you know? I'm like a moth to a fine lighting flame!

I would be lying if I didn't admit how this activity challenged my self-confidence. I'm just not 20 anymore friends and it shows. In fact, I participated with two photoshoots that week and the person behind the camera was not my boys or my husband. I'm not complaining about myself, but rather admitting that I have "picture challenges" and look for good lighting at all costs. And I have to wear leg make up. There it's out.

It knocks me down a bit, but then I remind myself where my true value comes from and where my gifts lie and I push forward. I remind myself to focus on what I do have and not what I don't have. That's not always easy is it???

Enough on that! Let's meet these sweet, beauties from the shoot...

Meghan- fashion guru - she designs her own clothes and is assisting with the BU Women Fashion Show coming to Atlanta next week!
Kylie - makeup artist, model and more!

Side Note: Not pictured here is Courtney, the store owner, and Lindsey, who graciously opened her home and lent out accessories, bralettes and whatever else was needed. She laughed because they were all items from the boutique. Friends supporting friends, right?

Alright, now let's get to more pictures from the shoot, which are also on the website - that was a cool surprise! And don't forget to use CHRISSY20 to receive 20% off your order of $50 or more with FREE shipping. Good stuff! *No, I don't get any kick backs if you use the code, I just don't want you to miss it. :)

Different Outfits from Southern Lace Boutique

The Jeans I love & Cute Tops

Dresses I Wanted To Take Home With Me!

Embroidered Dress, $38 - I'm wearing a small in the picture, but would go up to a medium.

We ended the evening by gathering for a few short minutes around Lindsey's counter. Courtney surprised us with gift certificates to the store and I sheepishly announced that I had cupcakes in a cooler out in the van, but only 3. Of course they took that in stride and shared. However, I promised I would be making deliveries in the future.

This was the first time I had met these ladies, but it didn't matter.  I had a blast getting to know them and will definitely add this evening down into my book of adventures.

It didn't take long for that gift certificate to start burning a whole in my pocket so picked up a red velvet cupcake and paid Courtney, and that boutique of hers a visit.  I tried on more clothes just because, but I knew I was getting those jeans I wore for the shoot.

More Comfy Jeans!
While there, I also discovered that she likes to play around in carpentry! Much of the store was handcrafted, designed and installed by her and her mom! Check out these pieces she now sells in the store...

Locals, be sure to pop in and visit Courtney at Southern Lace Boutique. If you mention this post, you will get 20% off your purchase! (Online shoppers use code CHRISSY20 - online purchases must be $50 or more, free shipping included.). Thank you Courtney for a fun adventure. I love your store and look forward to my next visit!
