Simply Earth July Box: Essential Oil Recipes For Kids

Hello and welcome to Simply Earth's July subscription recipe box reveal for July! Perhaps you've already seen some IG stories or maybe even an impromptu video that I shared on Facebook regarding this box. However, there is something about the layout and design that goes into a blog post that ensures I'm not ready to give up on blog life - no matter the draw that Instagram life gives! So today I share the essential oil goodness in the form of kid-fun recipes. Side note: those four bottles of EOs included in the box will come in handy long after this month!
What's In it??
4 Full-Sized Bottles of Essential Oils
Lavender
Fir Needle
Sweet Dreams Blend
Tangerine

Bonus Items:
Psyllium Husk Powder
One Balloon for Stress Ball
Labels and 6 Recipe Cards

*Be sure to look for a special code for a bonus box and a $40 Simply Earth shop credit at the end of this post!!

Recipe Cards:

1. The "Homework" Diffuser Blend
This blend is all about the focus, so it may be summer but this mamma is all about using it for her daily "homework". I will make a master blend in the bottles provided (in bonus box) for the school year as well!
1 drop of Tangerine Oil
1 drop Fir Needle EO
Master Blend: 50 drops of each oil to 5 ml bottle, add 1-2 drops from master blend for use

2. Sweet Dreams Roll On
Like the diffuser recipes, the roll ons are as simple as adding coconut oil and the featured blend for the month to the roller bottles you receive in the bonus box every 6  months! This month is just like it states: roll it on to aid in those sweet dreams!

2 Drops Sweet Dreams EO Blend
10ml fractionated coconut oil
Roll On Bottle
3. Natural Slime
Kids love making natural slime and this month there's a recipe for an easy mix up with the added bonus of the Tangerine and Lavender EO! Tangerine is great for fighting mental fatigue (sign me up!), relieving stress and more. Lavender is an amazing oil! I always knew it was calming, but I'm also learning that it's good for the skin, it's a deodorizer, pain reliever AND I put it in my mascara to strengthen my lashes (that's a bonus for ya!). So these two oils sound like a good combo for anyone to use!

We will be making this one on the next rainy day!

2 cups warm water
1 Tbsp Psyllium Husk Powder
1 Tsp Cornstarch
1 drop Tangerine EO
1 Drop of Lavender EO
3-4 drops Natural Food Coloring (optional)
1 Tsp Fractionated Coconut Oil

4. DIY Scented Stress Ball
Caden took the lead on putting this recipe together. I let him have fun with the flour and by the end we were both laughing and smiling.

Later in the day I sequestered this ball for myself. I'm the one running a bed and breakfast for boys!!!

Balloon
1 cup of Flour
Funnel
Empty Water Bottles (or similar container)
5 drops of Tangerine EO
5 drops of Fir Needle EO
3 drops of Lavender EO

5. Sweet Dreams Bath
Our schedules are crazy right now with boys in and out, no set bed time, etc. So I plan on saving this for a night when I need to get them to sleep earlier!
1 Cup of Epsom Salts
3 Drops Sweet Dreams EO Blend
1 Tbsp Fractioned Coconut Oil

6. Lavender Scented Bubbles
The boys are excited about making their own bubbles! This is another great idea from Simply Earth!
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups Warm Water
1/2 cup Dish Soap (clear and unscented works best)
1/4 cup of Light Corn Syrup
5 Drops Lavender EO
Bubble Wand
The stress ball is my personal favorite!

Simply Earth gifted me this box to review and I am thrilled to partner with them each month. I love the heart of their company (13% of profits goes to organizations that fight against sex trafficking) and their mission to educate and provide supplies for a more natural home. If you're looking to build your EO supply, gain essential oil education and be inspired to try new EO recipes each month, then Simply Earth is the perfect company to partner with.

Now here's that code I mentioned:  Use code GRANOLAANDGRACEFREE with a subscription purchase at Simply Earth for a FREE initial bonus box AND a $40 gift card towards anything in their shop...more oils, a storage box, a diffuser, jewelry, etc! Subscription boxes with 4 full-sized bottles of EOs, bonus items, stickers and recipes are $39 a month and can be paused or canceled at any time!

  5. I am waiting to make the stress ball with my grands next week. The bubble blend is fabulous and hope to pack some in my suitcase when I go to visit the littles. The bubbles were so big and bouncy.

Love your photos as I am sure Simply Earth does, too. They really showcase these fun products well.

  6. Adding corn syrup to the bubble bath--hmmm, don't understand that one. What are you doing with the psyllium husk powder, adding it to baking/food? I used to use that all the time, but it's been awhile.

    1. Ahhh, yeah. I wasn't able to get a bubble wand before it was time to shoot these photos. So these are actually bubbles for outside and not the tub! oops. They husk powder is for making natural slime. lol. The boys love the stuff. Me, not so much.
