DIY Face Care With Simply Earth Essential Oils

Hello! I'm back with another essential oil recipe box from Simply Earth. Their DIY recipes are for amateurs and pros alike with opportunity for adventure in each box. Last month I teamed up with my boys for engaging kid recipes, but this month is perfect for some girl time! My sister-in-law was in town visiting so I took full advantage.  With her mutual love for essential oils and beauty products, she was the perfect partner in DIY fun. I hope you enjoy today's August box reveal, featuring recipes to care for that beautiful face of yours!
*What Comes In the Box?

Feel Good Diffuser Blend
The diffuser recipes are always the first I throw together because of how simple they are!

2 drops Frankincense EO
1 drop Clove EO
1 drop Rosemary EO

*6 Step Skincare Routine
Now that we have our diffuser going, it's time to begin our face care routine! There are a few steps that you would only do weekly, however the toner and face cream can be used daily while the spot treatment roll on is used as needed.

Step One: Frankincense Facial Scrub
With this recipe you will blend oats and brown sugar in a blender or coffee grinder. From there it's a matter of mixing oils and honey. Then you're ready to gently exfoliate the face.

Step 2: Rosemary Facial Steam

Once you've exfoliated, you're going to heat up water, grab a bowl, a towel and rosemary EO. When the water is heated sufficiently, add the EO and relax for five to ten minutes under that towel and enjoy!

Step 3: Sheet Mask
Ahhh, the glorious sheet mask. I remember the first time I walked around my home wearing one. The funny looks and remarks made keeping a straight face impossible. My husband quoted Silence of the Lambs, one boy was startled, another wouldn't stop poking at it and the older boys shrunk back as if I was diseased. I saw more sheet masks in my future. The future has arrived! My sister in law used the mask from the box and I grabbed a paper towel. It worked, but if I wanted to host a Face Care Party, I'd order these disposable masks on Amazon!

Step 4: Toner
Toner helps remove excess dirt left after cleansing, while balancing your skin's natural ph. This recipe featured a new product from Simply Earth - the lavender hydrosol!  The hydrosol is not as potent as the lavender EO, making it safe to apply directly to the skin.

Step 5: Face Cream

This was a recipe that looked more intimidating than it actually was, as there were more steps.

I melted coconut oil and beeswax together on the stove, cooled the mixture to room temperature and then  blended all the ingredients together. Since I have a high powered blender, I only had to blend a few runs.

On the left you can see the slightly watery consistency. Once it looked like actual lotion, I scooped it out of the blender and added the cream to 4 oz jars, one for me and one for Kirsten. This cream is surprisingly light but moisturizing. I love that I know every ingredient that I'm applying to my face!

Step 6: Acne Treatment Roll On
Here's a step you can use any day of the week should problems arise. The monthly roll on recipes are incredibly handy. I keep all of mine in a make up bag so I can take them on the go if I wish. However, this spot treatment is going to stay in my bathroom!
Alright my friends, if you've debated on trying Simply Earth's creative recipe boxes, this is a great one to get started with! The frankincense alone is worth investing in! Next month I will complete one year of recipe box adventure and learning. I've learned how to use EOs for cleaning the home, combatting illnesses, skincare, pet care, safe recipes for kids and even have engaged friends along the way. Did I mention my growing collection of EOs? I was happy to send home a few diffuser recipes, this skin care regimen and more with my sister in law!

I love the heart of their company (13% of profits goes to organizations that fight against sex trafficking) and their mission to educate and provide supplies for a more natural home.

Now here's that code I mentioned:  Use code GRANOLAANDGRACEFREE with a subscription purchase at Simply Earth for a FREE initial bonus box AND a $40 gift card towards anything in their shop...more oils, a storage box, a diffuser, jewelry, etc! Subscription boxes with 4 full-sized bottles of EOs, bonus items, stickers and recipes are $39 a month and can be paused or canceled at any time!

    1. That scrub is so easy too Rebecca. Some things are not as effective and are far too time consuming to warrant doing them myself. However, there are others things that are too easy not to. lol - and then there is the whole time factor.
