What I Wore: The Color of Freedom & Crowned Free

Hello, beauties! The month with a focus on love continues. We can't let the sentiment slip by just because Valentine's Day already passed, right? We need it now more than ever! In an effort to cyber celebrate I  shared my Valentine outfits past and present last week, this week focuses on the color of freedom and Crowned Free, and next week will cover limitless love. Are you ready to dive into this fabulous color of freedom and some fabulous accessories?

The Color Blue

Caite & Kyla Dresses / / Dove Bag c/o Caite & Kyla

I love the color blue, but I've not put too much thought into what significance or meaning it may represent. I recently read that it can inspire creativity, although that seems to vary in opinion from expert to expert. However, with a few extra clicks, I find that consensus is the same when it comes to what color represents freedom. According to Elmer's Flag website, blue represents freedom, justice, perseverance, peace, vigilance, prosperity, and patriotism.

I suppose that's why "Crowned Free" designed this "Freedom" bracelet with the color blue. In fact, this bracelet was hand-made by a survivor in South Africa. The company began with a heart to make a difference to those that know not the blessing of freedom. When the founder, Heidi VanderWal, attended an awareness-building event on human trafficking she left with an intention to get involved. After prayer and I'm sure much planning, Crowned Free was born.

I'm beyond thrilled to partner with one of their reps Brooke Paneitz, to share two of their bracelets. The other bracelet, "Unity", is beaded with a wooden closure (pictured above). In addition to this post, I'm hosting a giveaway of your choice for one of the two! More on that below!

The "freedom" bracelet inspired these photos, as well as the restyle of this fabulous dress by Caite & Kyla. I've featured this dress a few times on the blog, but today I'm sharing three more ways to style it! You've already seen the first look with the cardigan duster, DOVE bag, and open-toed boots. Now let's go to the denim jacket.

2: Denim Jacket, Pikolinos, & Burgundy Tote

I couldn't resist layering a camo tee underneath the denim jacket! There's no mistaking the fact that I'm still wearing this unique and one-o- kind dress. However, with a complete piece or shoe change, it does take on a whole new vibe.

3: Cord Jacket c/o XCVI

This fabulous jacket c/o XCVI needed to shine once again. You can wear it as a dress, but of course, layering is fantastic this time of year!

Giveaway Instructions

Brooke and I will be hosting this giveaway together for either the Freedom Bracelet or the Unity Bracelet starting this afternoon, 2/17/21, on my Instagram stories with reminders posted to the grid, etc until it closes. Hop on over to follow Brooke and me if you haven't already!

In Closing

Every human being has value and deserves to be free. Freedom is our God-given right. I've taken this for granted and I want to be more aware. I want my heart to break for those enslaved or who don't possess freedom.

What are some of your favorite companies to support that gives back? We all have areas that we are passionate about. I believe that "Freedom" is my word for the year. 2020 opened my eyes to so much, including the incredible amount of human trafficking that is in my town, state, country, and around the world. So once again, I'm happy to partner with Brooke and her Crowned Free hustle with jewelry, clothes, and more! For me, it's a start towards raising awareness and perhaps getting more involved with local organizations as well.

~Inspirational: My Personal Faith Declaration~

As a Christian, I believe that I should stand up for those that cannot, though I am just beginning to do so. I also believe that even if I lose my earthly freedoms, there are freedoms I enjoy in my relationship with Christ that NO ONE can take from me. Nor can they take the promise of eternal life, which makes the trials of this life more bearable.

I believe that through a relationship with Jesus Christ, anyone can experience healing and restoration and find peace in Him. There's also a measure of comfort in the knowledge that one day, justice will be served for all. If you have any questions in regards to this, please feel free to message me personally. I'm always up to chat and all opinions are treated with respect.

"...and [He] will provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of a spirit of despair..." Isaiah 61:3

  2. Wow Chrissy, you seriously caught some air! Love this dress on you and the message you shared. Crowned Free sounds amazing and I am heading to the site to check it out. Human Trafficking is so despicable and yet it's happening right under our noses. We all need to be more aware and fight for those who cannot - just like you said!

  7. Chrissy, what a beautiful post and a great company to partner with. You are such a kind and loving person and I love how you make the effort to uplift people and spread awareness about causes that are so important to you and to humanity. The part where you said you want your heart to break for those without freedoms really struck a chord for me. I feel that heartbreak every time I read the news. I am so glad that people like you exist in the world to balance out the bad stuff. Now your outfits...I love all three ways you have styled this dress! The photos of you sitting by the water are absolutely stunning, my friend. You are so beautiful! But I really want to know how the heck you jumped so high in the last photo?!
