Garden Mules For Everyday by Jambu

garden mules

Today's featured look is all about easy, comfort-style from the material to mules, the easiest shoes to wear! You can use these "Garden Ready" Torino Mules for the garden, or you can sport them out for a stroll around town...a run to the grocery store...the list goes on. Wherever you may want to wear them I suggest you plan on it soon. These Torinos by Jambu & Co are on sale for $19.49!
I can vouch for their comfort, non-slip traction and easy-on style, which means I'm adding "dog walks" to the list of uses for these mules.

What I Wore: The Prettiest Velvet Tops

Hello and welcome to another week, right? The temps are cooling off in Florida and I can now imagine styling cozy and luxurious fabrics, like velvet. Velvet has been around for a long time. I'm trying to picture someone from the renaissance era, parading around in their velvet dresses. How heavy they must have been, although appropriately warm in the wintertime. Of course, most velvet we purchase now isn't woven from silk, but it's cozy and luxurious just the same in my opinion.

What I Wore: A Shirt Dress Styled Two Ways

Have you added a shirt dress to your closet yet? I own a couple of sporty tee-shirt dresses but this button-up shirt dress c/o Caite & Kyla is so elevated and loaded with possibilities. You're going to love the gorgeous detailing on this beautiful piece. As for the weight and feel, you will have to trust me when I say it's sublimely soft and comfortable. With the snap-up feature, you now have a trench-style layering piece. Don't you love the beauty of versatility?

Now, this is a Caite & Kyla piece so you know there's going to be embroidery details. This particular design is swoon-worthy.  The raw edge hem is around the bottom, on the sleeves, and around the neckline.  I wore the dress to church one morning with short block heels and a lacy scarf but switched those shoes for the sneakers pictured here by evening.

From Shirt Dress to Jacket

For the second look, I styled last week's runway style leggings from WHBM with an old dressy tank shopped from the closet. There's a multitude of colors to pull from the embroidery so I went with green, burgundy, and blush. This look gives me all the boho feels that I'm so at home in.

Speaking of blush, I have enough accessories in this color to add to my accessory "set" list. When I'm in a hurry I know this hat, these shoes, the purse, earrings, and even some bracelets are easily styled together. It worked perfectly in this instance.

My photographer and best friend

By the way, we will celebrate twenty-one years of marriage this Thursday! This guy will lay on the ground, climb up on ledges, and sweat in the Florida heat to take some fun angles. I sure do appreciate him for so many things, but this goes above and beyond!

Have a wonderful week!

What I Wore: Fab Blouses & Colors For Fall

It's bright, sunny and in the 80's here in South Florida. You know this means minimal layering, breathable fabrics, and of course no chunky sweaters! However, we can fake fall vibes with fall colors, right? Today's blouse feature is another gorgeous Caite & Kyla design sent for me to review. The unique hemline and cut, cascading flow, and gorgeous print make styling fabulously simple. I featured the top with white pants because these days anything goes and there are no more "no white after Labor Day" rules!

What I Wore: Influencer Event at Buff City Soaps

There's a lot of ways we can support our local community, whether we're into blogging and social media or not. However, one of my favorite ways as an influencer is to attend special events for new businesses coming in on the scene. That's why I didn't hesitate to accept an exclusive invite to Buff City Soaps Sarasota's Soap Event. I hadn't even heard of them, but I wasn't concerned. I saw "plant-based homemade daily soaps" and I was in.
Also, some new shoes from Secret Celebrity arrived hours before the event so I ended up styling my entire outfit around them. This post is just a sneak peek, but spoiler alert: I love them!

What I Wore: Summer Dresses For Dinner Or Dessert

These last couple of weeks, the hubby and I were able to sneak away TWICE! That's unusual for our schedules but sometimes event "cards" fall as they may. These little getaways inspired this post because one was out for a full course meal, while the other was a short escape for dessert. I wore dresses to both outings, as is fitting for the Florida heat.

I shopped my closet for the dresses but linked up the shoes I know you'll love, as well as the accessories that represent small businesses or companies that are out to make a change in the world. In addition, I hope you'll be inspired to get out and get some time with someone special.

What I Wore: Fashion Thoughts & Cayman Pants

Hello, and welcome to another edition of "fashion play". This week I have questions in regards to your thoughts on fashion.  What do you love about fashion? Have you determined your personal style, or do you consider fashion at all when you prepare for your day? Do you have fashion pieces that elicit happy feelings when you put them to use?   Regardless of your answer, I hope you find my thoughts on these questions inspiring and helpful.

How we dress plays a role in how we feel. Isn't that fascinating? If I'm lounging around the house braless and in my pjs, I'm highly unmotivated. If I'm put together with the addition of styled hair, I'm ready to take on anything. Of course, clothes do NOT define the person, however, they do make a statement about the person. And isn't that part of the beauty of personal style? It's unique to the individual. You can fall in line with a particular style and still have your own method of interpretation.  Two women can own the same top and style it in different fashion genres. That's the adventure in fashion. And life is too short not to appreciate adventure wherever it may lie.

What I Wore: Earth Tones With Kimonos & Wedges

There is a certain level of comfort to earth tones, wouldn't you say? Even if I'm in the mood for bold and bright, I lean into those soothing earth tones. There's something about sandy browns and ocean blues. Of course, I understand that we are all drawn to different color palettes, as warm and cool tones complement us differently. However, today's kimono has a mix of both warm and cool in those blues, and the brown sandals are a staple for any wardrobe.

*Both the kimono and sandals were provided to me for review. However, all opinions are my own.

What I Wore: Flyaway Pants & Aetrex Shoes

When I saw these flyaway, linen pants on the Caite and Kyla website I knew I had to try them. First of all, linen is one of the best materials for hot, sticky weather. Secondly, the slit along the sides gives them an airy, flowy feel adding another hot weather bonus. My first thought was to style them as a beach coverup. However, I realized they would work for both a beach run and store runs by styling them with a button-up oxford!

As for the Aetrex Jillian Sport shoe, those were a surprise. With a water-ready design, I knew they would work for going to the pool or beach, but would they work with my style? Read on for my full review and look for discount codes at the bottom of this post. Both the shoes and the pants were provided to me for review. All opinions are my own!

What I Wore: Prints & Matching Accessories

spring fashion 2021

What do you do when you can't get enough of a fashion piece? You wear it again and again, and when possible get creative on how you style it! In fact, a few weeks ago I shared a post on layering dresses, and last week I shared this very dress HERE. And without intending to share more layering inspiration, I'm back once again. Perhaps it's because I know any day the oppressive heat will return to South Florida, leaving all traces of layering behind.

So layer on and let's begin with the new spring dress c/o Love Kyla, layered with the soft sweater c/o XCVI. The organizer purse was purchased during Caite Clothing's Christmas sale. And this hat you see on repeat is from Amazon. Everything else is closet-shopped my friends...

Style Takeaway

This week's style takeaway is a simple application of matching belts to wrist candy, and in this case the necklace as well. Somehow it brought it all together. Also, throw in a pop of color with the purse or the shoes! Oh, and don't be afraid to use an eyeglass chain, they are here for everyone. ;)

What's Up On Social Media

Do you grow weary of wondering what's going to be for dinner or shopping for what's going to be for dinner? Last week I began to share about Blue Ribbon Foods, a farm-to-table, stock-your-freezer, customizable food service delivered to your door...or freezer. And yes, they'll provide you with a freezer to house all those goodies and ensure the food. Oh,, the goodness - you can taste the freshness in every bite. Hop over HERE to request info to see if this a good fit for you and your family. I feel a blog post coming here soon!

Also, I shared my latest love in skincare on the gram as well HERE. From the creator to the impacting products, I'm beyond impressed. I'll be sharing that on the blog soon as well.

My desire to learn more about health and share what I learn continues. If you aren't already following me on Instagram, you can find me HERE

What I Wore: A Spring Dress To Impress

caite and kyla clothing
How do you feel about dresses? Dresses were not my thing once upon a time because I thought they were too limited on how I could wear them. I had so much to learn! Since moving to Florida I began to wear them to keep cool, etc. BUT, my appreciation grew, when I realized the style potential each dress has.  Last week I shared examples on how to layer tops HERE. This week it's all about a new spring design, sent to me by Caite & Kyla Clothing. You're going to love all the design features contained in this one piece!

What I Wore: Layering Dresses For More Looks

spring layering
Last week was all about the Pantone colors for spring: Ultimate Grey & Illuminating. This week we get to play with style creations through layering. It means more options, more ways to wear, and more bang for your buck.  Today'ss featured dress is another Caite & Kyla addition from the fall (spring styles are on their way!). Of course, we can layer our dresses with outer pieces, but why not make more looks by layering tanks, tees, sweaters, sweatshirts? Of course, this isn't a new concept by any means. However, I hope to inspire you with more possibilities!

Also, this is a fun way to recreate a dress for Easter! Ok, let's get to it.

What I Wore: Jambu Pull-ons In Pink

Pull On Sneakers
Hello! What is your go-to shoe for spring? I hadn't thought too much into it before writing this post, but more and more I find myself reaching for pull-on sneakers. They are convenient, stylish, and wonderfully comfortable. Rainy days aside, they are perfect for pairing with just about any easy-going, casual look.

Now, if you've been around the blog a minute, you might have seen my first pair of Erin shoes by Jambu & Co. Well, those popular styles are back, along with a new variation, the Erin Too. Today I'm pleased to share these adorable spring and summer shoes featuring two casual looks.  *Adorable sneaks were sent to me for review. As always, all opinions are my own.

Spring Fashion 2021

Spring Fashion 2021

Layering a button-up with a tank is such an easy-going look to pull together. From there, grab a pair of jeans or even better legging pants with a pull-up waist. Why not sport all the slip-on-pull-on-pull-up comfort that you can?

Shoe Highlights

The Erin Too shoes feature a sporty bungee chord across the sides, a skate-inspired look, and knit uppers. The relaxed foam insole feels amazing from the first time you walk out the door. Those insoles, a flexible body and adventure-worthy traction put these sneakers on my top shoe for spring list!

Look Two: Chambray, Better For Play

Spring Fashion 2021

I switched out my plaid button-up for a chambray snap-up. Do you sense a theme going on here? Aside from the trees. I am a mom of boys and if you look closely you will see one of them hiding in the banyan roots. Anyway, chambray tops or jean jackets make fashionable completer pieces for fall or spring because they look cute tied around your waist. Once I attempted to climb these trees with the boys, I was happy to shed my outer layer!

Style Takeaway

Convenience and comfort no longer mean drab and boring. One or two quality pairs of casual shoes with stylish details and your favorite colors, can not only take good care of your feet and legs, but they can also bring you countless looks that elevate confidence.

I believe Jambu has a selection for all tastes and highly recommend perusing their homepage. If you find something you love, I have a discount code for 20% off your entire purchase!

What I Wore: Earth Tones & Link UP

Last week I alternated my two favorite pairs of joggers with comfy tees, with the exception of Sunday. It was that kind of week.  In full disclosure, the cords I'm featuring today are no less comfy. They have an elastic waist and a soft material that tricks my brain into thinking the body is still sporting joggers. Ha! I'll share one of those outfits at the end of this post for kicks, as well as discount codes for money saving goodness.

Anyway, before I move into outfit details, let me say that I continue to build a community locally as well as virtually to share in on a 21 day health adventure. The brains behind this journey is Dr. Livingood. Interested in learning more? Check out his website and book HERE. I will not begin the 21 days until February 15, so there's still time. You can also visit last week's post to read more on my why.

What I Wore: Sunny, Casual Vibes & Link Up

Are you feeling sunny these days? After realizing that things in our country may only get crazier, I decided to turn off mainstream media altogether. Though I still have a few sources I trust and enjoy, I couldn't stomach the obvious push from the mainstream to divide our nation from several angles. In addition, I made the decision to reeducate myself on matters of health. I forgot the "why" behind much of my health decisions. When you lose your "why", you lose motivation altogether. Guilty!

So, the motivation is there. Now what? Where do I start? Well, my mom ordered me a book she enjoyed by Dr. Livingood (yes, that's his real name - talk about a call on your life).  This book is a 21-day guide to experience real health. Want to join me in reading? He is offering the book for the costs of shipping on his website

From there I'm building a community of virtual and local friends with the same goals. Some are beginners and some are a wealth of knowledge, but all are wonderful accountability, encouragement, and support.

Combine the renewed motivation with renewed purpose and a plan and I'm starting to feel sunny!

What I Wore: Florida Winter & Link Up

Cardigan / / Sweater / / Cord Pants / / Divina Boots c/o Enjoiya
Hello and welcome by. Today I'm featuring three simple outfits that I wore over the last week! Though January is one of the better months to shop for clothes, I'm only purchasing something if I LOVE it. Therefore, you will continue to see many items on repeat. In turn, I hope to inspire you to make much of your existing closet. Of course, you will also see items from my favorite small businesses pop up as well.

When Wedges and Lug Boots Come Together

Today I'm bringing you the comfort, style, and adventure of the Divina shoe by Enjoiya Shoes. These Divina boots bring you the elevated style of a wedge heel with the comfort of a lug style. And before we go further can we take a moment and enjoy the clever brand name of "Enjoiya"?

The Enjoiya working group features three shoe brands: Secret Celebrity, Soft Comfort, and their latest addition Enjoiya. In fact, I recently read an interview with the company founder, Frank Cammarata because I enjoy behind the scenes stories. It's interesting to hear how the company survived this past year considering how fashion footwear is nonessential. The Enjoiya Group was able to keep their entire team together, shifting their design focus to address remote workers, homeschoolers, and smaller gatherings.

I also read an article on one of the designers, Vanessa Boilero, which I really loved. Her story could be written into a Hallmark movie screenplay featuring a character that works her way up from customer service to designer. So while I sport these adorable booties, I will think of Vanessa and tip my hat to her. Keep up the good work Vanessa on all those fabulous shoes!

Embroidery Meets Snakeskin Featuring Caite & Kyla

Corded Jacket c/o XCVI / / Leggings - c/o Caite // Loft Blouse / / Dallas Boots / /  DSW Tote

Welcome to another fashion adventure and the Style Six Link up! I say adventure because today's post features my first attempts at styling a pair of snakeskin print leggings! That should be easy, but with the additional embroidery detail, I wondered if I could do them justice.  As it turns out, that these leggings are beautiful dressed up or down, with whites, beiges, tans, black and I'm sure much more!

As for the origin of these leggings, if you follow me on Instagram stories then you may know that I visited Caite & Kyla's showroom and warehouse. In truth, I invited myself and they graciously accepted me. It was wonderful to meet the faces behind this innovative, bohemian-inspired, and adventurous clothing label. And while I was there, I noticed these leggings and asked if I could try them on. Of course, you know how that went! Wink. ;)

Photography Poses & Cultivating Brand Relationships That Last

Hello and welcome to my dress restyle part two! A couple of weeks I restyled a dress spotlighting the Dove Crossbody bag from Caite & Kyla as well as a layering tee. Coincidentally, I'm using another CAite & Kyla piece with a layering tee.  However, today's post highlights extra layers to transition from summer to fall. As an added bonus, I'm sharing new (to me) poses for inspiration, and thoughts on brand partnership longevity.
Note: In order to feature a few extra poses, I've added more photos than usual.
So let's get right to these simple changes and funky/silly poses before sharing thoughts on cultivating brand relationships that last. As for the clothes shopped from my closet, I will do my best to link up similar items for whatever is no longer available!
