What I Wore: Customizable eShakti Dress: Floral Butterfly

Once again, I customized a dress from eShakti Designs, and once again I chose from their Boho line, Wayward Fancies. They have software technology that allows you to see what your dress will look like with long or short sleeves, varying necklines, and of course, varying dress lengths.  What a brilliant concept!

In addition to fabulous dresses, today is also the last day for the Blogger Six Link up. Granola & Grace will be publishing Wednesday fashion posts, but our link-up is retiring. I'll share more at the end of this post on the link-up.

What I Wore: Comfort Wedges Styled Two Ways

aetrex wedges

Do you like shoes with height or do you stick to flats? If you stick to flats, is it style preference or because shoes with a heel are no longer comfortable? Well, each time I get a compliment on these Lexa Wedges by (and c/o) Aetrex Shoes, I want to share how comfortable they are and why that is! I've styled these coral cuties with jeans, slacks, and dresses. And there wasn't a time I didn't receive a compliment from someone! Today I'm sharing two looks I paired these shoes with, so even if you're all about flats, maybe you'll be inspired on ways to style the color coral.

What I Wore: Earth Tones With Kimonos & Wedges

There is a certain level of comfort to earth tones, wouldn't you say? Even if I'm in the mood for bold and bright, I lean into those soothing earth tones. There's something about sandy browns and ocean blues. Of course, I understand that we are all drawn to different color palettes, as warm and cool tones complement us differently. However, today's kimono has a mix of both warm and cool in those blues, and the brown sandals are a staple for any wardrobe.

*Both the kimono and sandals were provided to me for review. However, all opinions are my own.

What I Wore: Flyaway Pants & Aetrex Shoes

When I saw these flyaway, linen pants on the Caite and Kyla website I knew I had to try them. First of all, linen is one of the best materials for hot, sticky weather. Secondly, the slit along the sides gives them an airy, flowy feel adding another hot weather bonus. My first thought was to style them as a beach coverup. However, I realized they would work for both a beach run and store runs by styling them with a button-up oxford!

As for the Aetrex Jillian Sport shoe, those were a surprise. With a water-ready design, I knew they would work for going to the pool or beach, but would they work with my style? Read on for my full review and look for discount codes at the bottom of this post. Both the shoes and the pants were provided to me for review. All opinions are my own!

What I Wore: Print Mixing With One-Of-A-Kind Prints

print mixing
One print, two print, three print, four. Anything goes nowadays, right? This especially applies when you take subtle pops in your shirt sleeves or animal prints on shoes or purses. I've mixed stripes with floral, camo with floral or stripes, leopard with floral, and the list goes on. However, this is the first time I've mixed a one-of-a-kind print with a one-of-kind print. And it's all because of an Instagram challenge mixed with a busy schedule.

oryany
This outfit began with a closet shopped venture into neglected capri pants, tops, and a last year's wedge sandals in the morning. I wish I had time to snap a photo of but I forgot in the morning rush. Later that evening, I was due back up to church for our college and 20 something's small group. And yes, Im that personality that dresses according to the vibe of where I'm going. I stay within my realm, but I wasn't feeling the sandals for the college group.

I swapped out the wedges for the white tennis shoes and then remembered the print mixing style challenging I'd yet to get pictures for. After a quick glance around the room, I spotted a print scarf with the same colors as the top I was wearing. Why not pair them together? I threw the scarf around my shoulders. Oh heck no. I tied it around my waist. Hmmm. The tassels hung perfectly at my hip and somehow the two prints blended.

I grabbed my well-worn chambray blazer, my latest navy purse and was out the door. Feedback from the young ones is always appreciated!

"That's a scarf? I thought that was a part of your top!"
"Love the white sneakers, Chrissy"
Today's featured scarf is on sale for $20! Couple that with the 20% off discount code and you've snagged a unique find for a fabulous price! CODE: Love Kyla Scarf

Love Kyla Shirt Options Options (limited sizing) : Sharkbite / / Love Kyla Notch Neck / / Love Kyla Tassel Tunic

Style Takeaway

  • As always, try something you haven't tried before.
  • Two different prints in the same colors just might work if worn in just the right place.
  • When mixing prints, I opt to keep the accessories neutral or subtle.
  • A blazer styled with sneakers makes for a cool, calm, and collected vibe.
  • A hip sack makes for a convenient, hands-free experience while adding balance to certain outfits.

Well, of course, there was this print mixing style challenge. There's a sale on my favorite skincare (25% off site-wide with code: MOM) and Friday I'm featuring a new pair of kicks!

What I Wore: Prints & Matching Accessories

spring fashion 2021

What do you do when you can't get enough of a fashion piece? You wear it again and again, and when possible get creative on how you style it! In fact, a few weeks ago I shared a post on layering dresses, and last week I shared this very dress HERE. And without intending to share more layering inspiration, I'm back once again. Perhaps it's because I know any day the oppressive heat will return to South Florida, leaving all traces of layering behind.

So layer on and let's begin with the new spring dress c/o Love Kyla, layered with the soft sweater c/o XCVI. The organizer purse was purchased during Caite Clothing's Christmas sale. And this hat you see on repeat is from Amazon. Everything else is closet-shopped my friends...

Style Takeaway

This week's style takeaway is a simple application of matching belts to wrist candy, and in this case the necklace as well. Somehow it brought it all together. Also, throw in a pop of color with the purse or the shoes! Oh, and don't be afraid to use an eyeglass chain, they are here for everyone. ;)

What's Up On Social Media

Do you grow weary of wondering what's going to be for dinner or shopping for what's going to be for dinner? Last week I began to share about Blue Ribbon Foods, a farm-to-table, stock-your-freezer, customizable food service delivered to your door...or freezer. And yes, they'll provide you with a freezer to house all those goodies and ensure the food. Oh,, the goodness - you can taste the freshness in every bite. Hop over HERE to request info to see if this a good fit for you and your family. I feel a blog post coming here soon!

Also, I shared my latest love in skincare on the gram as well HERE. From the creator to the impacting products, I'm beyond impressed. I'll be sharing that on the blog soon as well.

My desire to learn more about health and share what I learn continues. If you aren't already following me on Instagram, you can find me HERE

What I Wore: A Spring Dress To Impress

caite and kyla clothing
How do you feel about dresses? Dresses were not my thing once upon a time because I thought they were too limited on how I could wear them. I had so much to learn! Since moving to Florida I began to wear them to keep cool, etc. BUT, my appreciation grew, when I realized the style potential each dress has.  Last week I shared examples on how to layer tops HERE. This week it's all about a new spring design, sent to me by Caite & Kyla Clothing. You're going to love all the design features contained in this one piece!

What I Wore: Layering Dresses For More Looks

spring layering
Last week was all about the Pantone colors for spring: Ultimate Grey & Illuminating. This week we get to play with style creations through layering. It means more options, more ways to wear, and more bang for your buck.  Today'ss featured dress is another Caite & Kyla addition from the fall (spring styles are on their way!). Of course, we can layer our dresses with outer pieces, but why not make more looks by layering tanks, tees, sweaters, sweatshirts? Of course, this isn't a new concept by any means. However, I hope to inspire you with more possibilities!

Also, this is a fun way to recreate a dress for Easter! Ok, let's get to it.

What I Wore: From Sidewalk to Sand in Jambu

spring shoes
Hello, beauties! Are you ready for spring? Of course, the fashion industry has been ready with its 2021 spring line since the spring of 2020. Once a line is released the design process for the next year begins! Sounds like a risky gamble at times, but I bet that's part of the adventure. And it's an adventure for me to see what those familiar brands add and change. Last week I shared a design upgrade by Jambu with the "Erin Too", but today's post is a newly designed, water-ready sandal c/o Jambu.

*Jambu sent me the sandals for review. As always, all opinions are my own. ;)

What I Wore: Sunny, Casual Vibes & Link Up

Are you feeling sunny these days? After realizing that things in our country may only get crazier, I decided to turn off mainstream media altogether. Though I still have a few sources I trust and enjoy, I couldn't stomach the obvious push from the mainstream to divide our nation from several angles. In addition, I made the decision to reeducate myself on matters of health. I forgot the "why" behind much of my health decisions. When you lose your "why", you lose motivation altogether. Guilty!

So, the motivation is there. Now what? Where do I start? Well, my mom ordered me a book she enjoyed by Dr. Livingood (yes, that's his real name - talk about a call on your life).  This book is a 21-day guide to experience real health. Want to join me in reading? He is offering the book for the costs of shipping on his website

From there I'm building a community of virtual and local friends with the same goals. Some are beginners and some are a wealth of knowledge, but all are wonderful accountability, encouragement, and support.

Combine the renewed motivation with renewed purpose and a plan and I'm starting to feel sunny!

Head to Toe Accessories, Starting With the Shoes

Snakeskin Shoes
Hello and welcome back to another Style Six Wednesday! I hope you enjoy accessories because today is all about the accessories from head to toe. However, instead of starting from the head and working our way down, we're going to start with the main feature of today's post: the shoes! Not a bad place to start! In fact, a fellow blogger (J's Everyday Style) once shared a style tip to begin your outfit with the shoes. This works for me most times, but honestly, it starts with the pants for me. Do I want stretchy or fitted - ha! Of course, in today's case, the shoes dictated the style.

Change Your Jacket, Change Your Look

How To Style Fall Jackets

Tis the season for layers and I love it!  Though the afternoons are still heating up in Florida, I wanted to play with the few fall jackets I own.  Why? Because I often forget the impact we can make by simply changing our outer layer and maybe the shoes. This impact means more wears for your favorite items. It can make an "old" item seem new again. So that's exactly what I went for with today's feature. Let the story begin...

How To ReStyle A Shirt Dress

Altard State
Hello and welcome back to another fashion feature. Though many weeks I'm on fashion auto-pilot, every once in a while I steal a moment to enjoy my closet. I know for some, shopping for clothes or getting dressed is a chore and I get it! That's one of the reasons I blog. Once upon a time, I had a small closet full of poor choices and no fashion confidence.

Today I still have a small closet, but I make better shopping choices and I've learned to enjoy making the most of what I have. That's why today I'm sharing a shirt dress restyle, my latest "closet" addition, and of course the Blogger Six link up.

Flowers For The Hour: Summer Style Continues

Hello, my friends. How are you holding up in all the crazy? My brain is on lockdown and I wish I could sit down with each and every one of you and share thoughts, fears, hopes, and meaningful conversation in person. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm grateful for this space. I'm grateful for styling adventures, pulling colors and trends together. I'm grateful for creative outlets and photography sessions. I'm grateful for hats during this season of bad hair for me here in South Florida. I'm grateful for YOU.

Luca Love Bracelets & Summer Style

Hello friends. How are you? I'm well considering, but I confess my thoughts run wild these days. I go to sleep and wake up with a sense of urgency. There's a timeline that I mentally review without prompting. It begins in March and continues until the present moment. Snippets from articles, videos, and conversations replay like a movie. I feel as if we've been stuck in this thematic drama- sci-fi-thriller series. Each episode has a cliff hanger to draw me back in the next day.

For this reason and more I appreciate the light-hearted fashion adventures on Instagram and Granola & Grace. I'm still working with an intern for the summer with pictures and content creating. All photos from this post are taken by her. I'm excited about upcoming content with household items, fashion pieces, and local places! Of course, today begins with fashion! After all, it's the Style Six Link up, where we invite you to share your fashion and beauty posts with us!

Preparing for Spring/Summer Shopping & Link Up

This week's fashion post is a simple throwback to a few looks from last spring and summer. I love to do this before I make any purchases for the new season. Comparing what was trending to what is trending helps me see how I did on purchase decisions. It also helps me get organized and determine if I need to refresh shoes, shorts, etc. With stores beginning to open in our area, I'm prepared for what will feel like an amazing privilege - instore shopping! I love the convenience of shopping online, but I miss the people watching, the soft lighting in the Lucky Brand Store fitting room, and the time alone I get when I shop (no one in my family wants to go along!).

3 Ways To Wear: Cobalt Blue Print Sweater

Hello! Last post I shared my nursing woes, as my teens were down with the flu. Thankfully, they returned to school on Thursday and I played catch up over the weekend. I'm still not caught up! However, I was able to steal of few moments before the Super Bowl to get pics done for today's post. Speaking of this post, I am thrilled to bring you another "3 Ways To Wear Post"!

Today's feature outfit is shopped from my closet, with the exception of my jewelry. Remember the necklace and earrings I shared about in Friday's post? Well, I already put them to use this weekend.

Outfit Re-Creation, Something Sparkly & The Style 6 Link Up

altar'd state

I'm keeping it short and sweet today my friends. We have two boys down with what might be the flu -will this fever ever leave?  So today I'm simply sharing this outfit re-creation by Kellyann at This Blonde Shopping Bag as well as a sneak peek at something that sparkles. Wink.

Here's my inspiration photo:
I've styled cream with white before, but I loved Kellyann's style surprise with the snake booties. Isn't it fun when we see something we like and already have what we need in our closet?! The white crop pants from XCVI have been on repeat since they arrived. If you missed last week's post on 3 Ways to Style, check it out HERE.

Outfits of Christmas Past & The Style Six Link Up

Hello! Today's post is inspired by Fonda from Savvy Southern Chic. She recently shared a fabulous Christmas style round up and I made a mental note to do the same. What better way to close out our last Style Six of 2019?   Hopefully, it will inspire you to dig through your closet and create a new look perfect for whatever event you may have coming up!

Now before we go back a few years, let's make the short jump back to last week's Christmas dinner. I wore a top from Amazon Prime and then shopped my closet for the rest! I wanted the Emerald Green color but it was sold out at the time. However, the black turned out to be a fun choice with the red shoes.

Utility Pants Take On Austin & The Style Six

Ruffle Top/ Soft Utility Boyfriend Pants/Pearlized Ruby Sneaker C/O Secret Celebrity Shoes

While frolicking around Austin last week I made an unplanned purchase at the Lucky Brand store, located at The Domain.  There's something about shopping with sweet friends that causes a chain reaction, right? We walked right to the clearance section, which boasted an additional 60% off! Remembering the combinable 40% off coupon tucked in my wallet, sealed the deal. My reserves slipped away and I had a new outfit to traipse up and down South Congress Street.

Thankfully I didn't have to traipse alone. Shelly, from the Queen In Between, offered to be my tour guide for Monday since I arrived almost two days later than the rest. And I quickly learned that in addition to being the Queen in Between, Shelly is also the queen of murals! My friends, there's quite a few murals up and down that strip!
