How I Style Wedge Sneakers

Like many trend trains over the years, I hesitated hopping aboard the wedge sneaker trend. However, when I tried on a few pairs I knew I'd cave. Now I have two pairs! I love the fun, casual vibe with added height wedges give. Both of mine are from Target - are you surprised? Anyway, I'll be brief with a few looks styled with these chic sneaks!

Of course a pair of jeans would be fabulous to pair with them, as are leggings, and just about any pair of pants.  For this outfit I grabbed my tried and true kimono vest, a graphic tee and those jeans.

Wild Print Mixing & Red Bow Shoes

Hello! As I type, Fraser plays on the television while my husband and eldest bellow back and forth about last Friday night's HS football game. In the midst of their clamor my youngest two clamor to chime in. My middle son joins them, ice cream bowl in hand. Of course all this brings the dog from her slumbering couch nap in hopes of a quick game of tug-o-war, or maybe even a dropped snack. It's a typical evening around.

Though we thought we'd be hunkering down from torrential rains and angry winds, hurricane Dorian went in another direction. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bahamas, as thousands are not enjoying a "normal" evening at home. (I'm adding the RedCross link HERE to donate because sometimes I desire to help and just don't know how!)

Costco Style: The Most Worn T-Shirt Dress

Hello friends! I hope this post finds your day going well! I'm happy to report that almost four weeks of south Florida living are behind me and I'm still alive, though mere breathing causes me to break out into a sweat. While conversing with others outside of air conditioning I catch my thoughts occasionally drifting to the trickle of perspiration coursing down my back or abdomen. Then my focus returns to the matters at hand, knowing that everyone has their own personal trickle or trickles.  Ah well, dare I say I'm growing accustomed already?

Classic in a Jumpsuit and the Sunday Showcase

Hello friends! Once again I'm joining some blog friends in the Sunday Showcase Feature. Due to our family move from Georgia to Florida I missed last month's feature - and I truly did miss it. Also, I can't say enough how much I appreciate this blog community. I could barely keep up my IG, never mind maintain the blog, but you beauties stuck around and supported me and I'm so GRATEFUL!

One Outfit & Aunt Catfish's On the River

Top:Random Store in Mtns/Boyfriend Jeans:Gap/Shoes:Target
Fedora:Khols/Necklace:Khols/Bangles:Charming Charlie
The boys and I had close to two weeks at the beach this year (daddy joined us part way through). The first week we stayed with my family and the second week we were mostly on our own.  In preparation, I packed plenty of clothing options, hats and other acessories. Not sure why. Other than my bathing suit and cutoffs I hardly cared. This outfit was pretty much the only time I made an attempt.

***Aunt Catfish's On The River***

It was Sunday. And for us that means the famous brunch buffet at Aunt Catfish's On the River in Port Orange, FL. It has become a family tradition. This year I woke up all our sleepy heads early, threw on the one and only attempt (complete with roominess and comfort) and we loaded up to get to the restaurant for the early bird special.

Thankfully we waited less than ten minutes, confirming that arriving before 9 was perfect - little to no wait and $3 off per plate. (Rhyming not intentional.)

This is the line for the omelets, pancakes and french toast.  Yeah we still waited in it.

My second trip to the buffet...Southern Egg Stacks (? - a yummy combination of sausage, sweet potato and egg), cheese grits, spiced apples, a bite of fried catfish, sweet roll and something green - parsley salad.

Another well known feature and family favorite...the chocolate fountain

Dark Skin boy's nose is peeling
There you have it. Food cash well spent.

Do you have a yearly vacation destination or do you change it up? Regardless, I hope you are enjoying your summer. It always flies by.

Granola & Lacy Skirt

Spring is most definitely making appearances in these parts! Our cherry tree believes it to be spring, as made evident by the white blossoms quickly apprearing. And after a series of miserable dreary days, the sun shone brightly last week. It made me think of lyrics from a current song that plays on the radio, "you only miss the sun when it starts to snow" (in this case when it continues to be dreary).  Then I was reminded of yet another truth. We wouldn't appreciate the sunny moments if it weren't for the cloudy ones.  So, for those unplagued by insufferable allergies, go ahead and step outside. Breathe in the beauty of spring. Take a moment for the gentle breeze to caress you, while you listen to the birds make ready. What a wonderful time of year. And me? What shall I be doing while you appreciate spring?

Hurry up!! Oh someone send me some sod!!
Just watching and waiting for our grass seed to germinate, sprout and GROW!!

Ok. Enough of my silliness. (yeah right.)

The first day of spring was so beautiful here in Georgia I felt it only fitting to bring out these floral leggings. And I could not help (nor did I want to) the lightness and bounce in my step. Running errands never felt so good.  So with out further ado may I present my first outfit of spring...

Sunglasses found at LOFT for $4.98

Oh, if only all days could feel like this one! I know...They would lose their luster if it were so.

There you have it.  A mixture of hand-me-downs, purchases from last year and a few gifted items. The only new article in the mix? Those sunglasses I purchased with a $10 credit at LOFT. In fact, I found two pairs for $10.  What a deal! And I thought this would be the year when I invested in some GOOD sunglasses. (Maui Jim or something) Maybe next year.

Outfit Breakdown:

Leather Jacket: Michael Kors (gift)
Top: Cast-off
Skirt: Wet-Seal (last year)
Floral Leggings: Some Country store in the mountains ($5)
Ankle Boots: Target
Necklace: Khols
Ring: Kate Spade (cast off)
Sunglasses: LOFT (4.98)
