Drawstring Tencel Shorts & Aquarium Outfits

Hello my friends! Today I'm introducing another clearance find: TENCEL drawstring shorts from the GAP! I had no intention of adding more draw string shorts to my closet but the softness of the material called to me. I've not had the best of luck with drawstring shorts, yet this pair came home with me. They are so comfortable, but I question how flattering they are on my build. What do you think?

Nagging doubts aside, these shorts are on repeat, firstly to the Mote Marine Labs Aquarium and then all over the town! Speaking of the aquarium, I lost count of our visits since we moved here but I thought it would be fun to share a few outfits from a few of them. In addition to outfits, I'll close with a few reasons why I think everyone can benefit from being a member - somewhere! ;)

Athletic Wear: Reversible Tank, Sports Bra and Leggings

Hi! Yoga anyone? Now before I misrepresent, allow me to explain that I don't practice yoga on the daily. However, it's my onramp whenever I get stuck in an exercise rut, which I fell into after our move to Florida. I kept saying I'd join a gym, etc but I didn't want it enough to sacrifice quiet mornings for exercise. It's rowdy around my house, but summer has reached new heights! But just the same, here I digging out my yoga mat. I blame it on the dog...

About a month ago, I found the dog chewing on my favorite sports bra by Handful Bras. This bra originally came into my possession while visiting an athletic shoe store for running. Their motto, "flatter, not flatten", lived up to its name, while giving fabulous support! The comfy bra is so durn cute too. All this to say, I wasn't happy to find damage done to my favorite sports bra.

I sent the company a silly Instagram video message in my best Leia from Star Wars voice, explaining my puppy woes and asked for help.

"Help me Handful Bras, You're my Only Hope"

They responded the next day! The sweet rep emailed me and said they would send a bra, along with a little surprise! What?? My day was made!

The Bra & The Surprise
The surprise was this fun reversible tank top! It can scoop in the front or scoop in the back, depending on which side of the bra you'd like to feature. As for the capri leggings, I received those at the same athletic store in Georgia. They are a stretchy high-waisted fit with a good dose of tummy control, which I especially enjoy right now.

Friday Favorites: Sarasota Highlights

Friday Favorites is extra special this week because today is our official move to Florida date. There were many uncertainties, but with one van load and one truck load we drove about 8 hours to our house closing! Though nothing felt real, we loaded back up with keys to our new home in hand. Awaiting our arrival was a sweet welcome in the form of a stocked fridge, a hot meal and a made up air mattress for Glen and I.

Those first few months were a blur. A lot of tears were shed, but God faithfully provided comfort, direction and blessings along the way. So all that being said, I want to highlight some of our Sarasota favorites to celebrate. Again this is in no way a comprehensive list! I plan to write a travel style post for this gorgeous town. In the meantime I invite you to share in on some of family favorites to visit and bring our out of town guests to!

Hello my friends. It's all smiles here on the blog, for today's post features the giveaway I mentioned on Monday with JORD, a maker of wood time pieces that I've admired for years! Perhaps you've seen these watches as well, or maybe even own one yourself. If that's the case, then you know why I'm so excited. However, if you haven't heard of them, you're in for a treat! Either way, I'd love for you to join me for today's wrist candy love, complimented with boho feels for summer - it's truly the perfect minimalist watch.

Have You Considered Reusable Menstrual Pads?

I am adventurous with most things natural - essential oils, beauty, foods, household cleaners, etc. And when you venture into the realm of natural, you begin to look at ALL areas. It didn't happen at first, but eventually my "granola" choices led me to question what I was using for my period. Those questions led me to what I've used for years: the menstrual cup, with natural liners and the occasional pad purchase.  Though I looked at reusable pads from time to time, I couldn't get myself to try them. Washing them, coupled with the inability to imagine how effective they could be kept the option off the table for me. So what am I doing writing this post??

Red, White, Blue & You: All Things Patriotic Link Up

When I think of the 4th of July, of course I think of our country's independence, but from there I move on to all the summer sentiments. From childhood on, the 4th makes me feel like summer is in full effect. There's barbecues to be had, country music to listen to, vacations to reflect on, family and friends to laugh with. So in a sense I feel as if I'm celebrating with gratitude as I'm indescribably grateful to be alive and share moments with those I love.

All that being said, today's post is going to be a conglomeration of fashion and sentiment with a few other miscellaneous goodies for this fabulous "Red, White, Blue & You LINK UP with some sweet blogger friends. Please feel free to link up your posts with red, white and 4th Inspirations!
