One print, two print, three print, four. Anything goes nowadays, right? This especially applies when you take subtle pops in your shirt sleeves or animal prints on shoes or purses. I've mixed stripes with floral, camo with floral or stripes, leopard with floral, and the list goes on. However, this is the first time I've mixed a one-of-a-kind print with a one-of-kind print. And it's all because of an Instagram challenge mixed with a busy schedule.
This outfit began with a closet shopped venture into neglected capri pants, tops, and a last year's wedge sandals in the morning. I wish I had time to snap a photo of but I forgot in the morning rush. Later that evening, I was due back up to church for our college and 20 something's small group. And yes, Im that personality that dresses according to the vibe of where I'm going. I stay within my realm, but I wasn't feeling the sandals for the college group.
I swapped out the wedges for the white tennis shoes and then remembered the print mixing style challenging I'd yet to get pictures for. After a quick glance around the room, I spotted a print scarf with the same colors as the top I was wearing. Why not pair them together? I threw the scarf around my shoulders. Oh heck no. I tied it around my waist. Hmmm. The tassels hung perfectly at my hip and somehow the two prints blended.
I grabbed my well-worn chambray blazer, my latest navy purse and was out the door. Feedback from the young ones is always appreciated!
"That's a scarf? I thought that was a part of your top!"
