Up Your Denim Style With a Scarf & The Smuggler's Cove Adventure

Heyyyyy! It's hump day, the last week of school for my teens AND we used our four-day Visit Sarasota VIP pass for the second time!  If you missed last week's post on Selby Gardens, I explained that I received VIP passes from Visit Sarasota for two at several participating Sarasota attractions. With only 4 valid days and a full schedule, I literally squeezed in outings. Some may call me crazy but I hate to waste opportunity!

That being said, while the older boys were in school, I bribed the younger boys to get their work done quickly with mini-golf adventures! Today's pictures are from outing #2 - Smuggler's Cove Adventures!

Quick Chat On The Outfit
My outfit is a combination of GAP, Lucky and my current favorite scarf from Causebox for a little extra flair. The top and shorts are not only available, but they are also on sale so you may want to check them out. I wear these comfy shorts weekly - almost daily. Side note: I love how the right accessory can adds flair to an outfit. Perhaps that's why I love a good hat or kimono....yesterday I wore my duster kimono over these exact pair of shorts with a tank top. I walked into Francesca's boutique and those sweet ladies gushed over it. The accessory made the outfit for sure! This is where fashion is fun.

Smuggler's Cove Adventures...

After hole number 1, you travel over a shipwreck where you find more putt-putting fun. The landscaping is gorgeous with lush green vegetation engulfing each marker. Palm trees bring little to no shade, but they make you feel like you've traveled to some remote island. There's even a waterfall spraying a refreshing mist as you pass!

Our fun began the moment we had clubs in hand! Each boy made a hole in one - not me! The boys hardly argued on this outing so I couldn't resist purchasing some gator food.

When was the last time you played mini-golf? For our family, mini-golf was something we did while on vacation - to Florida. Well, we live here now so...

Big thank you to Visit Sarasota for adding impromptu adventures to our week. Huge thank you to bloggers, Tara and Mandy , from the Sip and Mingle events, who work hard to find stellar sponsors/brands to connect with!

Alright my friends, have a fabulous rest of the week. Listen to some fun music, add a fun accessory and get your groove on!

Time To Recharge...In My Floppy Hat

Hello my sweet friends! How do you recharge after an overloaded calendar week or month? Oftentimes we add far more than needed to our calendar, right? We struggle to say "no" to our kids, employers, church, etc or we don't want to say "no". We think, oh I can manage that. It's only once a month. And before we know it, we've lost any "white space".  Before we know it we're working on overdrive and forgetting about visions, goals etc. For me, the bottom line is if I don't plan out the month ahead of time, the calendar gets out of control.

Friday Favorites: My Top Picks For The Dog

Back in December my husband and I caved to the pleadings of our boys (it only took 10 years) and adopted a dog. Growing up my family had pets, but they were just kind of there. Our dogs training never went beyond using the bathroom outside and basic commands like, "sit" or "give me your paw". Therefore, I honestly had no idea what I was doing when we brought Dolly home. Thankfully, the Humane Society and friends were a big help. We are still navigating our way through pet ownership, so I thought I'd share things that make our life easier with Dolly.

Friday Favorites: Food, Fun & Fashion

Hello! Once again the days melded together and brought us Friday - my favorite!  And this weekend starts long anticipated blog adventures. Today I'll be visiting a local dry bar, tomorrow is the Sip and Mingle Event (right here in Sarasota) and Tuesday I'm attending a private influencer event!! You know I'll be sharing on Instagram stories, followed by a recap on the blog, so stay tuned!

I seem to be getting ahead of myself, for I've current favorites to share - a recap of adventures, fun, and faves featuring another recipe, an adventure and a touch of home. Now before I do, allow me to update you on our eldest. He broke his collar bone last Thursday and was in so much pain for a few days. Thankfully everyday he improves and is able to sleep and even become more independent. He's able to dress himself and started back to school on Monday!

Target "Jenny" Slides: Is There Anything They Won't Work With?

Hey, hey! I'm coming at ya with another Target shoe find - the Jenny Slides by Universal Thread. They were a lone box in just the right size on the clearance section and my heart went out to them.  Oddly enough they're not clearance online, so they must be an online return!  Needless to say, they came home with me, adding lots of options to my closet. I tried them with summer dresses, shorts, baggy jeans and fitted jeans. They look great with everything so if you haven't picked up a pair, these may be your next thang! Here's two looks to start off the spring/summer season on trend!

GAP Drawstring Linen Joggers, Styled Two Ways

Hey friends! I'm making it short and sweet tonight. You may remember these GAP linen joggers from a previous post (catch up HERE)! Well, I'm delighted to share two more looks that I enjoyed. As you may already know I love to get as much bang for my buck, especially when it comes to trendy-like items. Though joggers began appearing a few years ago, who knows how long they will stick around. Until then, let's have fun with them! They are lightweight and more comfortable than a pair of jeans. However, like jeans they can be worn dressed up or casually.
